So Anakin is in the Healer’s Ward one day when he spots a very sickly youngling in one of the beds. The boy is emaciated and shaking so hard that his IV stand is rattling.The Healer’s are trying to help him but everything seems useless. It’s then that Anakin sees it, a leech, like the one on Palpatine’s shoulder, is attached to the boys neck, it’s teeth embedded into the boy’s pale skin.

So Anakin is like, WTF and storm overs, ripping the leech off and crushing it in his hand in seconds. The young boy immediately stops shivering and lets out a small whimper of relief. The healers are left dumbfounded as Anakin walks out of the room for a moment, only to return with nothing cupped in his hands, but in reality is a slug.

Anakin gives it to the youngling, which snuggles up to boy and begins soothing the child before healing the nasty wound on his neck. The healers try to interrogate Anakin on what he’s done, but Anakin just shrugs and ducks out, much to their irritation.

Later on the boy starts quietly trailing after Anakin in the temple, hiding behind columns and doorways as he’s too shy to talk. Anakin is confused at first, not sure what to do about this, but the kid quickly worms his way into his heart, who looks up to Anakin as one of the greatest jedi in the temple, knowing that Anakin somehow saved his life.
