“This was an episode I was looking forward to writing much earlier: Our introduction to Mace Windu in the field. This was a great opportunity to show Mace be powerful in the Force, as a very inspiring leader.” –Henry Gilroy
Context: there have been a number of posts lately about de-aged Disaster Lineage shenanigans and I’ve been enjoying every single one, they’re all really creative and funny. I ended up talking out some ideas with a friend about the same concept which led to these bad sketches that I am now subjecting to all of you haha.
In this, the older the member of the lineage was, the more they de-aged. We have (actual) baby Yoda, 6-year-old Dooku, 9-year-old Rael, 11-year-old Qui Gon, 13-year-old Obi Wan, older teen Anakin and poor young adult Ahsoka. There is no logic to these ages, that’s just roughly what we were going with.
Alternative dialogue for the Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Anakin scene:
Qui Gon, to Anakin: You’re not my Master. 😡
Anakin: Well, your Master is currently 6 years old so too bad.
“You clones will never be fodder, not on my watch. the Jedi, clones, senators, our allies–all of us, we’re in this together. And I will fight for each one of us in equal measure, now and until the very last day of this war.”
I’m kind of legitimately crying a little in my heart, because Obi-Wan Kenobi cared so deeply about everyone, that no one was fodder to him. That this is why he was so warmly regarded by everyone around him–why his Jedi brothers and sisters loved him, why his clones were so loyal to him, why Cody feels free to speak up around him and trusts him and believes in him in this very issue, why Padme trusts him.
Because Obi-Wan Kenobi does his level best to navigate what could be yet another trap being laid for them, could just be a powder keg that would blow up in their faces, all while being resolute that, though this is war and death happens, they’re still all in this together and of course he will fight for them.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi through and through, he was never going to just let the clones fight for themselves without pitching in to help. Not when he’s still in a position to be able to offer help.
Also, can we talk about this majestic bastard?
“I WANT MORE CLONES TO HUNT FOR SPORT! I WANT THEM NOW!!”
“Oh, we heard you.”
”And the answer is no.”
I’M SCREAMING, LOOK AT HIM
WHAT A DRAMATIC, EXTRA BASTARD HE’S THE BEST
So THAT’S where Anakin gets it from!
I love how there’s often just a sliver of doubt about why Anakin is so extra and where he gets it from and then we absolutely remember OH YEAH
ANYWAY, A THREAD, DEDICATED TO THE MOST EXTRA LINEAGE AND HOW IT ALL STARTED WITH THIS MAJESTIC BASTARD:
SO ANYWAY
WHEN HIS LINEAGE DOES THIS SHIT?
THAT IS A DIRECT LINE STRAIGHT BACK TO OBI-WAN KENOBI
