Could we see more of Shattered Shields? Does Obi-Wan’s shattered shields mean he lets things slip occasionally? Like bad memories? Like Bandomeer and Melida/Daan? How does Anakin react to finding out about these things?Does Dooku act differently towards Obi-Wan know he knows just how badly his Padawan messed up Obi-Wan’s head? Is there still some lingering conscience somewhere in his blackened heart?

Staring at his
master for a long moment, Anakin slowly set the water can in his hand
aside on the window ledge as the other struggled to pull his shields
in together. Obi-Wan was obviously also avoiding his eyes at the same
time and Anakin lips pursed as he moved right in front of the man on
the couch and crossed his arms over his chest. “What the kark was
that master?” He questioned, trying not to let on how shaken up he
was.

“It was nothing,
an old memo-” Obi-Wan tried to murmur.

“Memory? You mean
to tell me that happened? Qui-Gon Jinn really left you on what looked
like a war torn planet because you wanted to help teenagers?”
Anakin questioned incredulously.

“There were…
circumstances, we were suppose to rescue a hurt Jedi, no-”

“He left you!”
Anakin snapped, kneeling down to meet the green eyes before softening
when Obi-Wan winced, obviously reacting to Anakin’s lashing rage.
“I’m sorry Master Obi-Wan, I didn’t mean to…” He took the
others hands, rubbing gently with his thumbs in circles. “But I
just… you would never leave me like that. If I wanted to help
someone you would have picked me up under your arm regardless how
upset it would have made me not to help people. You wouldn’t have
abandoned me.”

At that word
Obi-Wan outright flinched.

Watching the other
for a long moment, Anakin sighed. “You’re not as over it as
you’re pretending are you?” He whispered.

“…No. But
there’s not really a lot to do with it anymore. It happened, the
man who did it is gone and we both took our decisions that day.”
Obi-Wan sighed deeply. “Time is the only thing that will heal
wounds, especially the mental ones.” He squeeze Anakni’s hands in
return.

“…You and
Qui-Gon Jinn never really talked about your problems, did you?”
Anakin questioned quietly, sitting on his heels in front of the other
Jedi on the couch, holding his hands tightly.

“No, it wasn’t
really… Qui-Gon went through a lot of problems. He lost a lot. And
that made him into a bitter man sometimes and it certainly made him
build high walls around his heart.” Obi-Wan smiled bitterly. “But
he could be kind and wonderful, worthy of respect and admiration. He
just… sometimes forgot that he was responsible for me. Its not an
excuse for the behavior but an explanation and in the end… he was
just human regardless of how high a pedestal one tries to put him
on.” He shrugged slightly.

Frowning a bit,
Anakin shifted to sit beside his master while still holding onto his
hand. “That doesn’t excuse him no, that’s honestly harmful
behavior… and its left marks on you.” He murmured quietly.

“…We all have
scars Anakin.” Obi-Wan soothed before sighing. “Its going to be
alright. Healing can take time.” He smiled faintly. “And I’d
mostly gotten over it until Dooku ripped my shields apart in his
quest for answers.”

“I swear if I
ever meet up with him again I’m going t-”

Obi-Wan cut in
smoothly. “Seek justice, not revenge.” He murmured seriously,
watching the other.

Face twitching,
Anakin nodded before pressing their foreheads together while bringing
his own shields to reinforce Obi-Wan’s gossamer thin ones.

Smiling when his
master instantly accepted the aid, Anakin squeezed his hand again.
‘You might not be seeking revenge… but you deserve compensation
for this pain my master. My poor master…’

I can not believe that’s where you left Shattered Shields. That’s awful and we don’t know anything about how Obi-Wan is recovering. That cannot be good for him. It sounds like mind rape. Anakin is already hovering and a mind is, well, it should be sacred. I’m sure he’s not the only one that’ll be trying to help. Cause just no. -shivers-

Pressing his hand to his temple while closing his eyes, Obi-Wan took
a deep breath as his mind seemed to throb with pain even as he tried
to reinforce his shields to cover the gaps in them where Dooku had
ripped them apart in his search for answers in Obi-Wan’s memories.

A gentle brush to his arm made him open his eyes though and he smiled
to Depa who was kneeling in front of him with a worried look on her
face.

She must have come to meditate in the garden just like Obi-Wan and
instead found him and opted to check on him. It was no secret in the
temple anymore what Dooku had done towards Obi-Wan and many were
walking on eggshells around him and politely ignoring it when his
shields faltered and he started to broadcast emotions or thoughts.

Anakin usually never left his sides at those moments, a dedicated
padawan with both of them trying to learn to live with new
disabilities. Anakin with his hand and Obi-Wan with what seemed to be
a permanent injury to his shield and mind unless he could find out
how to repair them.

“I’m fine.” He murmured.

“I’ll believe that when Yoda starts talking like everyone else.”
Depa said dryly before resting a hand on the other temple.

Instantly a cool sensation started to sweep over Obi-Wan’s mind
which caused him to breath out in relief as it allowed him to pull
his shields more together and wrap them around himself.

Giving the other a grateful smile at that, Obi-Wan patted the ground
beside him. “Meditate with me? I wouldn’t mind company.”

Smiling at that, Depa settled down beside him, her hand sliding from
his temple to his shoulder where it rested and provided a grounding
comfort.

“…Your padawan is hovering.” She murmured quietly.

“He’s been doing that lately. I politely ignore it since I
understand he’s worried about me.” Obi-Wan murmured, both Jedi
master’s pretending not to notice Anakin watching them from where
he had climbed up in a tree.

“…Does he always climb up trees to keep you under eye?” She
questioned with amusement.

“No, sometimes he hides behind corners and statues. Once in a bush.” Obi-Wan
offered back with wry amusement in turn.

That gained him a quiet laugh as Depa kept her hand on his shoulder
and brushed their shoulders together as a sign of companionship. Most
of his friends and now also the council did things like this to show
that he wasn’t alone in his pain.

Even some of the more hidebound ones tried to help him with physical
touches as much as joint meditation and Obi-Wan felt…

Honored.

That they cared enough to look after him in a time of need because…

Well Obi-Wan was in need. He could admit that in the private corners
of his mind at least that what Dooku had done to him had left him
weakened with his shields in a state of disrepair and perhaps
permanent.

At least he had the care of the Order around him…

And his men weren’t turning out half shabby despite their
unfortunate origins, Cody was quite the Commander.

#shatteredshields – after they all get back from Geonosis, the Council starts noticing that Obi-Wan’s acting strange, and someone finally asks what Dooku said to him

Head pressed into his hands, Obi-Wan ignored everyone else.

His pain could be dealt with alone, he didn’t need a mind healer to
take a look at him when there were others who needed actual healing
all around him after that disaster pot that was Geonosis. Even if he
was getting nauseous just thinking about that place.

Floating around in that field, Dooku ripping into his shields,
ripping into the old scar that was his bond to his master once.

Dragging the dying breath of Qui-Gon Jinn to the front of his mind…

Nausea rolled low in his stomach and his body convulsed a bit. ‘Keep
it together Kenobi… there are others who need the healers, just sit
here. Stay still, your padawan needs you.’ He took a deep breath
through his mouth.

‘Just breat-’

“Obi-Wan?”

He jerked a bit at the voice and looked up quickly, fighting another
roll of nausea as he focused his eyes on. “Ah, master Ti, master
Koon.” He stood, feeling faint but forcing himself to soldier
through it as he greeted the two masters with a small bow.

Anakin looked up slowly from the bed, blinking at master Ti and Koon
too as his stump rested on the bed.

Then he focused on his master, frowning a bit.

The two council master’s exchanged what seemed like worried look
before looking back to Obi-Wan. “Are you alright Master Kenobi? You
seem… different since Geonosis.” She reached out slowly, touching
his shoulder. “And you’re very pale, even for you.” She quirked
a half smile, a fang on display. “Are you injured?”

Shaking his head, Obi-Wan forced a smile of his own. “Just tired, I
am not physically hurt anymore since the healers fixed my saber
wounds.” He offered honestly.

“And mentally?” Plo questioned.

Sighing, Obi-Wan finally sat down again. “…I didn’t want to
mention it since there are others who need healing more then me but
Yan Dooku shattered my shields…its just taking me some time to
rebuild them.” He confessed.

“Master!” Anakin sat up quickly, eyes wide.

“It will be alright Anakin, I just need to resettle and rebuild my
shields.” Obi-Wan gave a tight lipped smile and rubbed his forehead
a bit. “…Though I admit its a bit more difficult then I ever
imagined. He really wanted to know how Master Qui-Gon died.” He
laughed, tone a bit high.

Over his head, Ti and Koon exchanged looks, the togruta’s eyes
wide.

“I see.” She whispered finally. “If you require aid Master
Kenobi… do not hesitate to ask either me or master Koon, we would
be more then happy to ensure the safety of your mind…” She
reached out and gently touched his shoulder.

Obi-Wan looked up at her and gave her a wry smile. “I’ll just be
off balance walking and a bit more agitated master Ti, but I
appreciate the offer and should I find trouble, I will take that
offer.” He promised and watched them go.

“…Master.” Anakin whispered.

Obi-Wan shifted and looked at him before smiling. “I’ll be fine
Anakin. Its just…its taking me time that’s all. It was…
experiencing Qui-Gon’s death again was hard for me and the smashing
of my shields and then the battle… well its taking me some time.”
Then the redhead frowned. “Are you sure you’re in shape to escort
Lady Amidala back to Naboo though? Its not…too early?” He glanced
at the stump that would soon be receiving a prosthetic now that it
had been prepared with a neural patchwork.

Watching the other for a long moment, Anakin suddenly shook his head.
“I…I think perhaps someone else should go in my place. I feel a
bit ill…” He offered, staring at the older man.

Obi-Wan blinked before reaching out and squeezing the blonds knee.
“Padawan… Anakin.” He amended, tone soft and fond. “You don’t
have to stay for me, I’ll be fine, I just need to rebuild the
shields.” He murmured before slowly standing, using the bed for
support. “Now, do you want some water?”

“Yes please.” Anakin watched Obi-Wan, watched how he ever so
slightly swayed from side to side, his steps uneven as he made his
way over to the water cooler.

A healer was eyeing him too he took note of.

‘…I’m sorry Padme…I don’t think I’ll be able to escort
you.’ Anakin shifted, sitting up more as Obi-Wan seemed to slump
against the water cooler and shake his head before he got himself and
Anakin a glass of water each, water sloshing over his pale hands on
the return. ‘I think I need to stay right here for now…’

Can you do one where in AOTC, when Dooku has Obi-Wan in the ray-shield, Dooku wants to know more about how Qui-Gon died but Obi-Wan refuses to tell him, so Dooku forces himself into Obi-Wan’s head and extracts his memories of what happened?

“How did he die?”

If he could have jerked, he would have as he stared at Dooku, brows
furrowing. “What?”

“Qui-Gon. How did he die? What were his last words?” It was as if
the older man was asking about the time or the date for a letter.

A casual thing if not for the sorrow in his ice blue eyes.

He had been Qui-Gon’s master, had seen the man to knighthood and
had drifted from him as the man became an adult and perhaps he
deserved to know.

Perhaps.

But Obi-Wan was not in the mood to speak about this as he closed his
eyes. “Those are my memories and I don’t think I’m up to
sharing those with you.” He offered quietly, trying not to have the
phantom smell of plasma burned flesh in his nose or the gasp of pain
in his ears that he heard in his nightmares.

“If you will not tell me…then I will have no other choice
Kenobi.” Came the unforgiving and dark tones of Yan Dooku.

Flickering open his eyes in confusion, Obi-Wan had no defense in
place as Yan suddenly slammed into his mind with the force of a war
hammer, breaking through the basic shields in place. Obi-Wan cried
out in pain even as the Sith ravaged through his mind, going back the
years to Naboo.

Trapped, too trapped behind red as his master is too far in front of
him, the Sith pacing like a malicious tiger in front of him. His eyes
focused on Qui-Gon and not even dignifying Obi-Wan with a glance
because Obi-Wan is too far behind and he’s injured and his ribs
aches so badly from his fall off the catwalk.

And Qui-Gon, calm and meditating, waiting for the ray shields to
fall, eyes closed.

The black sucking hole of darkness that is Maul.

Qui-Gon’s calm light, like the cool light of a moon on a cloudless
night.

The ray shields fall and Obi-Wan sprints, eyes on his master as he
fights the Sith and too late, to late to pass the last shield and
only able to watch.

He can’t do anything but watch Qui-Gon as the man makes one
mistake, one mistake and the hit to the chin and then….

He screams his denial as Qui-Gon stares in shock at him before he
falls to the floor of the melting room.

Obi-Wan has no time to focus on the rage and the pain as the Sith
turns his attention on Obi-Wan instead.

The mind blurs, memory no longer clear because Obi-Wan fights with
desperation until he wins and can hold Qui-Gon.

“Promise me you’ll train the boy.”

The fleeting touches against Obi-Wan’s cheek of still warm fingers
that meant so much more then the action really indicated.

“Yes master.”

Obi-Wan’s choking desperation clawing at him, the desperate desire
that he knew healing Force.

“He is the chosen one. He will bring balance. Train him.”
Qui-Gon’s last words in a melting room on Naboo, to an apprentice
who loved him with all he was.

Desperately nauseous with a pounding head, Obi-Wan came back to
Geonosis to glare at Dooku. “That memory was mine.” He rasped out
painfully, tears dripping to the sand. “That memory was mine to
keep.” The Jedi knight managed to choke out.

Dooku didn’t answer, just stared at the other before turning and
leaving, Obi-Wan left to his own pained shields that he slowly tried
to pierce back together and the pain in his chest from a broken
heart.
