All right, here it is, PadawanBen part 2 and this part is only about 300 words, so much a quicker read this time. I know it’s tiny but this didn’t really fit anywhere else, and since it’s so short I’ll probably post the next part tomorrow so long as I finish it in time. Many thanks and undying appreciation to @swpromptsandasks for letting me finish this fic!!
Again, any feedback is super appreciated since I’m still learning how to do this whole fic writing thing.
(Part 1/Part 3)
“It is done,”
Ventress’s voice said through the comm.
“Excellent work,
Assassin. Now, keep a close eye on him. We can’t have anyone finding him and we
can’t have him dying before he…fulfills his purpose.
“Yes, Lord
Sidious.”
With that, Sidious
shut off his private comm and returned it to the drawer in his desk where it
would remain hidden from prying eyes. So far everything was proceeding
according to plan.
The assassin had
practically waltzed into the Jedi temple, breaking into the Halls of Healing
and absconding with that obnoxious Jedi clone before anyone was the wiser. Now
the boy was safely ensconced in Sidious’s secret hideout of sorts: a building
in the heart of an otherwise abandoned are of The Works from which he conducted
most of his Sith dealings on Coruscant. He had spared no expense either,
furnishing a room with high-quality medical equipment and a top of the line med
droid to keep the boy alive. After all, it wouldn’t do for him to pass away
before Sidious put his death to good use. All it would take was the loss of his
husband to push him over the edge and Anakin would serve Sidious forever.
He had to
wonder, though, just what was causing the boy’s condition. From what Anakin had
said no one could find evidence of any virus, infection, or injury, so the
cause of illness remained unknown. It was no great matter, the boy would die
regardless, but it was a curious question nonetheless.
He resolved to
check on the boy himself later and get a sense of his condition and order a
full autopsy after the boy’s death. The information could prove useful should
he need to clone a force-sensitive being in the future.
For now,
however, Sidious was content to bask in the knowledge that everything was
progressing just as he had orchestrated. The galaxy would be his; it was only a
matter of time.
