Day to day: Let there be babies!!!

“…I am so high.”
Obi-Wan announced to the room at large, blinking up at the ceiling
and his announcement was meet with a few sniggers and Depa lifting
her head up from under the cover stretching to his knees, legs
resting in the stirrups of the medical bed with Anakin gently patting
his lovers hand.

“Well
that’s because the droid was a bit too overeager in dosing you
Obi-Wan dear but at least you’re not feeling too bad,” She
drawled, Anakin relaxing at her words. “…Yet, cause the baby is
not yet pushing and
you’re not dilated
enough yet.” She smirked.

Anakin
tensed up, squeezing Obi-Wan’s hand down.

There
was a loud groan. “Did you have to upset him Depa? Skywalker only
just calmed down.” Mace growled by the door where he was leaning
against the wall, arms crossed over his chest. Kit and Oppo were
stationed outside the medical wing of the west side of the Senate to
guard and the rest were inside, in various position of meditation or
mild concern.

All
of them there to guard Obi-Wan and the coming life.

“Sorry
Anakin,” Depa shot her a smile. “Its just a fact of life
honestly, pushing out a baby hurts and Obi-Wan decided he did not
want a c-section unless it became necessary
to either his or the child’s life.” She turned ducked back under
the cover and Obi-Wan squirmed a bit.

Obviously
she was touching something under there.

Anakin
petted Obi-Wan’s hand some more, rubbing gently. “How long do you
think is left? Its been four hours already.” He said quietly.

It
was Obi-Wan who answered, tilting his head along the pillow to give
Anakin a dozy smile. “And it might take hours still, you know that,
we went over this love.” He cooed gently at him, a
bit breathless.

Smiling
weakly, Anakin nodded before glancing at Ka-Adi in surprise when a
chair slid over to him.

The
man shrugged. “You looked like you needed it,” Ka-Adi face
softened into a smile. “Sit down before you fall down Anakin, its
going to be a long few hours still. Believe
me, I know.” He chuckled quietly from his spot playing sabbac with
Yarael.

‘Oh,
right, he’s married… what was it? Seven wives and five kids? Or
five wives and seven kids?’ Anakin sat down shakily, pressing a
kiss to Obi-Wan’s hand while glancing at the others breast. They
really had grown quite a bit during the pregnancy compared to their
rather small state in the start of their relationship.

“You
know,” Mace suddenly spoke up again in a thoughtful tone, rubbing
his chin with one hand. “I heard somewhere that nipple stimulation
delays birth.”

Everyone
looked at him, Yoda even opened up his eyes to give the man a stare
while Depa popped her head out from under the green cover to give him
a raised brow.

“…Right,
not really useful in this situation. But it relates to the subject.”
Mace held up his hands up in defense.

Obi-Wan
outright rolled his eyes before giving a sharp groan.

“Hold
onto that thought because I think we’re finally about to start
working for real here.” Depa ducked back under.

“Ooooooooooh!”
Obi-Wan pressed his head back in the pillow and groaned louder as he
squeezed down on Anakin’s hand tightly, causing the blond to yelp
and wish he had given his mech hand instead.

The
thing was giving birth.

In
the Senate.

After
speaking to the Senators.

The
rumblings were abundant, quiet
whispers after the freak had spoken.

And
Skywalker
under its thrall with a brat on the way that could potentially be as
freakish of nature as Kenobi itself was.

Standing
slowly, Sidious pulled his sabers out of his desk drawer and made his
way to the door. ‘Its time to end this, one way or the other.’

So what happens now that it is confirmed that one of Obi’s kits is Mace’s in rarer than rare?

Allowing Mace to help him lever
down on the pillow, Obi-Wan grunted in discomfort and then breathed
out in relief as he found the best position to remain kneeling in,
sending the other man an appreciative smile that Mace quickly
returned.

“I’ll
just be a moment in the kitchen to fetch the tray and tea.” He
promised quietly before leaving Obi-Wan.

Turning
his gaze to the window beside the low caff table, Obi-Wan marveled at
the sight as usual. Mace really had one of the best quarters he had
to admit, able to gaze out onto one of the gardens where the greens
and blues of water and plants were highly visible.

He
didn’t need to look at the durasteel of the city or the skycars
unless he wanted to.

“I’m
glad you accepted my offer of tea,” Mace noted as he returned,
settling the tray down along with a pot of tea before settling down
on the same side as Obi-Wan, an anomoly compared to when he’d
usually settle opposite. “I took the opportunity to cut up some
fruit and have scones heated for us.” He smiled warmly at Obi-Wan.

Smiling
in turn, Obi-Wan reached for the pot to pour tea. “Considering I
should be upping my fiber intake, I’ll be happy to eat some
fruits.” He said warmly as he allowed Mace to gently touch the
swell of his stomach, the other council master quick to touch these
days in private.

Obi-Wan
certainly didn’t mind, he knew how long Mace had been longing for a
kit of his own but had given up and had halfway even come to accept
that he was not able to father.

Just
like Obi-Wan hadn’t thought he’d be fertile enough for his own
pregnancy.

Yet
here they both were, the kits developing.

“I
will of course be allowing you access to your kit at any time Mace,”
He said softly as he sat the pot down to pick out some of the cubed
fruit. “I was never going to deny you that even if you’re not one
of my mates.” Obi-Wan added with a smile to the other man.

“I
know you wouldn’t prevent me from seeing them,” Mace chuckled
quietly, finally withdrawing enough to pick up his cup and blow on
the contents. “Speaking of that, what’s the situation with your
mates?” He blinked at Obi-Wan.

Tapping
his fingers on the table, Obi-Wan considered that before just smiling
at Mace, his entire being lighting up.

Chuckling,
Mace nodded in understanding. “That well huh.” He picked out a
sweet scone.

“Both
Padme and Anakin are being… just wonderful. Its not how I expected
it to be but I can’t deny that its lovely even if their hovering at
time can be frustrating.” He snorted in amusement before rolling
his eyes when Mace looked away quickly.

Oh
yeah, his mates weren’t the only ones hovering.

The
council, Mace in particular, had also hovered. The healers, quite a
few of his friends and
pretty much every alpha in the damn order who got close to him.

Something
about the pregnancy hormones and the fact that he was having a
multiple pregnancy making them antsy.

Mace
though and his mates?

He
would understand that as he gently touched the other mans shoulder.
“Hey… its going to be alright. The babies are all going to come
out fine and healthy and I promise to look after myself and not put
them in danger.” Obi-Wan smiled at Mace as the man meet his eyes.

Peering
at him in return, Mace slowly relaxed before smiling and nodding.
“Good… the kits depend on you and so do we all.” He rumbled,
chuckling quietly when Obi-Wan rested his head on Mace shoulder while
sipping tea.

Please could you continue in the risk ? A few clones go to the Creche to learn and help. Of course Anakin interprets it the exact false way and now thinks his Master doesn’t know which one is the father!

Pulling
of his shoes, Obi-Wan smiled warmly at Dolan. “I brought a few
volunteers with me to help with the babies and younger creche
members, I
know there’s always some shorthand when it comes to feeding time.”
He said warmly as the troopers followed suit and removed their boots.

It was a good thing they had one
civvies outfit because Obi-Wan was rather certain that they couldn’t
cuddle babies in armor.

Dolan chuckled, bowing to
Obi-Wan and the group with the troopers quickly bowing a bit
awkwardly in return as they weren’t used to it. “Indeed but
considering we just had a few arrivals, they are well welcome.” The
long haired man with kind brown eyes stated.

“New arrivals?” Obi-Wan
questioned in interest as he, Cody, Boil, Waxer, Wooley, Chopper and
Longshot followed quickly behind the creche master. “Oh
and by the way this is Cody, Boil, Waxer, Wooley, Chopper and
Longshot.” He quickly introduced his men-

Dolan sent each of them a warm
smile. “Indeed,
Master Plo and the Wolfpack intercepted a slavery
smuggling ring
wandering
around as ‘Jedi’, taking
Force sensitive children to sell,” The man gave a tight grimace.
“Some of them are unfortunately rather traumatized by the treatment
they were put under but we are trying our best to help them.” He
lifted the rail guard for the youngest members, ushering his
volunteers into the rooms that were reserved for only the youngest
that could not fend and wander for themselves.

There were a few muffled curses
in mando’a behind Obi-Wan and he could understand that.

There were always someone taking
advantage of in a time of vulnerability.

“So um, master Dolan,
we’ve never really been around babies…” Cody started, frowning
in worry as he glanced around. “I mean we look out for our young
vode but all of them are usually in the range of what is a human five
year old when we meet them.”

Obi-Wan’s heart throbbed at
that, wondering not for the first time just how bad everything was.
How compromised their ethics and morality had become…

It was a harsh blow to realize
and know what they were doing.

“Ah don’t worry about that,
we can show you what to do,” Dolan chuckled warmly, moving over to
one of the cribs. “Pay attention.” He reached down to show them
how to pick up a baby, the young togruta in a soft green onesie
gurgling at them all while grabbing at her caretakers tunic, a
guileless smile crossing her face as tiny lekkus twitched.

Each of them watched in
fascination and awe before Waxer eagerly moved to another crib and
carefully picked up a small bothan.

“Ah! A natural,” Dolan’s
words got a giant beam out of Waxer. “Now, everyone pick up a child
and check if their diapers need changing.
We shall feed them
afterward.”

Spreading out, each trooper
picked up a young baby, some sporting more obviously nervous
expression than others.

Obi-Wan, used to the creche as
Qui-Gon often took him to it for the little ones, easily picked up a
soft little human that he cuddled to his body, smiling at the dark
curls that covered the yawning babies head. ‘I’m going to have
one of these in a few months, a he or a she with maybe Cody’s dark
hair and golden eyes… they’d be so pretty with his eyes and
skin.’ He snuggled the baby then chuckled while wrinkling his nose.

This one certainly needed a new
diaper, he could smell that.

Tapping his comm, Anakin frowned
at the window of the bridge.

Around him his troopers milled
about, Rex barking out commands to ensure they were on the right path
since the Jedi was distracted.

But Anakin was thinking.

Ahsoka had called him.

Obi-Wan had apparently gone to
the creche, something that wasn’t all that uncommon before the war
broke out though Anakin knew he did not go as often after. He always
suspected that Obi-Wan found peace among the babies because he knew
exactly what the babies wanted from him, food, love, something clean
and warmth.

But his former master had also
brought with him his own troopers.

Several of them.

‘One of them is the dad… but
maybe Obi-Wan doesn’t know which one? Has he been spreading his
legs for his men?’ He bit his lower lip.

That was a cruel thought really,
Obi-Wan wasn’t…

But maybe he had?

Or had someone taken advantage?

Maybe Obi-Wan had during a
drunken revelry?

Or the troopers?

But Obi-Wan promised that
nothing bad was connected to the baby’s conception.

‘Maybe he and they just had
some fun together… and now he doesn’t know?’

Frowning deeply, Anakin decided
he would need to speak to Obi-Wan next time he saw him and this time
he would get answers without Obi-Wan sidestepping and distracting.

The Jedi masters talk to Obi-Wan in Father Sheev.

Waddling over to the couch with
aid, Obi-Wan settled
down heavily and smiled meekly at the guests.  “Apologies
for not offering refreshments right off the bat but I’m sure Yanda
here would be more than happy to get us some.” He looked up at the
zabrak who had helped him back to his couch.

“Thank
you but that’s not necessary.”
Master Fisto said calmly as he settled down on the other couch across
from Obi-Wan along with master Koth.

Obi-Wan
nodded but still looked up at the woman beside him with a hopeful
smile.

“I’ll
get you some tea master Palpatine of course.” She assured quietly,
glancing at the Jedi masters before she headed to the kitchen to make
said tea.

Both
Jedi master’s glanced after her in interest before focusing on
Obi-Wan once more.

“She’s
hired by my father along with a few others to ensure my health, I’ve
been a bit ill lately and with the kidnapping attempt earlier my
father is feeling somewhat paranoid since my health is also
diminished.” He answered without them having to outright ask as he
settled with a pillow discreetly behind his back.

He
was paranoid that his clothes were not hiding the swell of his
stomach but neither were focusing their eyes downwards so Obi-Wan was
feeling fairly certain they had no idea.

“Now,
what can I help the revered Jedi order with?” Obi-Wan smiled
warmly.

Stamping
in quickly, Anakin sent a nervous look around the apartment before
hurrying over to his husband, waving his hand when Obi-Wan pushed
himself up on his elbows. “No, don’t.” Anakin smiled nervously
at him and settled down on the same couch around the other mans side
as Obi-Wan laid back against the pillow behind him.

“Ani,
you don’t have to coddle me,” Obi-Wan scolded lightly even as he
smiled up at his man, pushing into the hand cupping his cheek. “I’ve
taken it easy all day I promise.”

Feeling
tenseness disappear from his shoulders at that, Anakin leaned in to
kiss Obi-Wan lightly. “I heard members from the Jedi council came
to see you today.” He murmured, his tone half questioning and half
nervous.

Obi-Wan
hummed. “Yes, officially they were here to inquire if Jedi guards
were wanted but I think they were really here to see if they could
spot you in this apartment,” Obi-Wan reached up and stroked the
others cheek, smiling. “They saw nothing of course and had to
listen to me talk about tax cuts.” He teased.

That
had Anakin snorting before tensing when a human male appeared in the
kitchen, his hand resting on his saber without thinking and he might
have pulled his saber if Obi-Wan hadn’t covered his wrist. “This
is Decan, he’s one of the bodyguards my father hired.” Obi-Wan
said soothingly.

The
man came closer, bowing his shaven dark head slightly in greeting.
“Its a pleasure to meet you master Skywalker, I and the other will
do our best to look out for your husband when you’re away from his
side.” He said seriously, olive green eyes serious and his general
mien reminding Anakin of Mace Windu.

‘Maybe
he’s fron Haruun too…’ He pondered even as he bowed his head in
return, taking note of the black and silver uniform the man was
sporting with blasters on his belt worn quite obviously. “Thank you
for looking out for Obi-Wan. I understand from the Chancellor that
you’re all medically trained?” He asked one
of the most pressing questions on his mind.

Decan
nodded. “Yes sir, we’re all trained to different degrees and
those of us who know less of male pregnancy has been briefed to
acceptable levels to at least be a place holder to another can take
over with more expertise,” He tucked his thumbs into his belt. “We
will do our jobs.”

Anakin
could have collapsed, as if iron had been pulled out of his spine and
maybe it was just Decan’s assertive nature but he could believe
this man with how certain he sounded.

“If
we needed help during the night, which one of you would be best to
summon?” He asked, biting his lip.

Tilting
his head, Decan considered that. “Myself, Yanda or Oolana, we all
have experienced
male pregnancy before and been directly involved in the birth more
than one occasion.” He nodded seriously at his choice.

“That’s
good to know, thank you Decan but you can go to the others now that
Anakin is here.” Obi-Wan smiled up at him before tugging on
Anakin’s hand with a pleading gaze.

Anakin
faintly heard Decan bid them farewell
but was more
preoccupied with setting his belt aside to curl into Obi-Wan on the
couch, nuzzling his soft smelling and warm husband.

It
was so good to be home.

Burning bird- “hell hath no fury like a” firebird’s dominant mate.

Its Anakin everyone worries
about as they make their way to the lavish apartment that belongs to
the Chancellor, Anakin’s entire body vibrating with certainty
as he can hear Obi-Wan, his hand often finding his saber and the
Force fluctuating around him.

And
he is a danger, a worry for sure even
with Qui-Gon having meet up with them with four judicial
officers who get explained that they are there because of Skywalker
and his mating instincts leading him directly to his mate.

It
apparently softens something in the woman leading them as they watch
Anakin’s vibrating body in the elevator, blue eyes focused on a
single spot above them that must be where Obi-Wan is.

And
yes, fire flickers his body as they move to confront Palpatine, the
man’s grandfatherly visage turning terrifying and dark.

But
they’ve forgotten something.

Obi-Wan
is a starbird too and his mate is within range, breaking the bonds
that holds him captive.

Qui-Gon
sees Anakin’s head snap towards the wall, blue eyes widening before
the knight calls out. “HIT THE FLOOR!”

Grabbing
the closest Judaical,
Qui-Gon drags the man down to the floor while seeing Kit do the same
with the two closest to him and Stass dragging the last one with her
even as Palpatine makes his way closer to the window and balcony of
the apartment.

The
next moment Qui-Gon just holds his breath as heat washes over them,
the smell of burning hair and the shriek of metal confirming that
fire is indeed washing over them but not directly touching them.

It
pulls back finally and Qui-Gon dares to lift his head and holds his
breath once more because there’s a hole through several
walls, melting metal and burning fabric right into a bedroom where
there is a ball of fire and barely through the flames he can see a
shape.

“Obi-Wan!”
Anakin scrambles off the floor, jumping through the holes, avoiding
dripping metal even as Qui-Gon glances towards the balcony.

Palpatine
is gone.

‘Bastard
saw his chance and escaped.’ Qui-Gon lips pulled into a taunt
grimace before pulling himself up and following after Anakin quickly
but the closer he got, the warmer it got, metal dripping and running
down from ceiling and walls from Obi-Wan’s heat.

“Stay
there master!” Anakin stopped, glancing back at him. “Obi-Wan
isn’t going to… he’s wrapped up in a protective fire and I need
to… I don’t think anyone else can get close to him!” He called
out over the roar of the fire before glancing at his powered down
saber and then throwing it at Qui-Gon.

Then
he made his way through the last hole as Qui-Gon watched his two
former padawans, listening to Anakin trill and chirp at Obi-Wan.

There
was a shift beside him, Mace joining Qui-Gon at the fourth wall while
grimacing at the heat pouring out. “Palpatine got away, we need to
put the entire GAR and order on alert.” He murmured quietly as he
watched Anakin trying to approach the ball of fire, his tabards
already catching fire and his boots leaving behind marks as the soles
melted.

But
Anakin himself was fine, no fire would damage a starbird who were
reborn in novas. ‘But what about their first birth?’ Qui-Gon
glanced worriedly at Obi-Wan who had yet to respond to the chirps and
trills. ‘Does the first birth entail that same nova?’ He
swallowed nervously
even as he nodded in agreement to Mace words.

Finally
though there was an
uncertain, answering chirp from within the fire that
had Anakin moving into the fire as fast as he could.

On
a cue from the Force, Qui-Gon summed his fight discarded robe and
watched Mace do the same, understanding in each others eyes as the
other council members joined them in listening to the chirps and
trills that were soothing and questioning in nature from within the
fire.

Slowly
the fire retreated, leaving behind two bare humanoids, Anakin wrapped
around his very pregnant mate in a tight embrace.

Breathing
out, feeling exhausted as adrenaline
was finally letting go, Qui-Gon moved through the still dripping hole
in the wall towards the two before stopping as he felt his boots
stick to the floor that bore the same signs of melting as the ceiling
and walls. “…Anakin?” He called out, watching Obi-Wan jerk in
panic and look up, his face going frightened to relief when he saw
who it was. “Hello Obi-Wan.”

“Hi
master.” Obi-Wan rasped out, smiling meekly before yelping when
Anakin stood with Obi-Wan in his arms, the blond quickly moving
towards them to get out of the melting room.

‘This
is going to be one hell of a report.’ Qui-Gon noted to himself even
as he wrapped his robe around Obi-Wan’s bare form.

‘This

as he wrapped his robe around Obi-Wan’s bare form.

So whose baby is it in “the risk?”

Lifting
his head off the pillow, Obi-Wan smiled wryly at the commander as he
stepped in. “Cody…” He
greeted quietly, watching the man lock the door behind him before he
started pulling off his armor. “You got time?” He asked sleepily,
having grown drowsy
at the silence and warmth of his bunk regardless of his intention not
to.

“Waxer
has the bridge,” Cody answered quietly, clipping off until he was
left in his blacks, making his way over to sit on the side of the
bunk. “Helix told you to take a nap?” He questioned. After
all, he knew very well how hard it was to make the Jedi rest.

Obi-Wan
grimaced but nodded, slowly shifting and rolling over onto his side,
making space on the narrow bunk with a pleading look on his face as
he peered up at Cody
through his fluffed out fringe.

Huffing
in amusement, Cody curled under
the blanket and into
bed with the Jedi, wrapping himself around him by tucking one leg
between the redhead’s and wrapping his arm around Obi-Wan’s
waist, resting his hand between the others shoulder blades. “Better?”
He teased gently.

Obi-Wan
responded by tucking his leg up over Cody’s hip and burrowing into
his chest. “Much. I didn’t think I’d actually get to sleep but
with you here, I might actually manage it.” He chuckled quietly
before settling in, smiling slightly.

Nuzzling
the soft hair under his nose, Cody contemplated a bit before huffing.
“I’m surprised you didn’t outright tell Skywalker. He did ask
after all.” He said quietly.

“He’s
such a fluff boy,” Obi-Wan rolled his eyes. “If he knew it was
you, he’d start coaching you on child rearing the moment I let it
slip. As it is I’m hoping me and you can go over it quietly
together.” He snorted sharply.

“Hey
I have ori’vode, I kn-”

“Babies
Cody, I mean he’d try to go through you the concept of burping and
diaper changes,” Obi-Wan explained more gently, smiling at him. “I
know you have little brothers, a lot of them and you’ve taken care
of them on Kamino and here. But babies are a tiny bit different.”
He poked the other
in the chest.

Grimacing,
Cody had to agree with that and nodded slowly. “Are… are there
places I could learn? I mean if you’re going to let me be i-”

“If
you finish that sentence you silly man I may have to smack you.”
Obi-Wan smiled softly. “Of course I want you in the baby’s life.
I was actually thinking of taking you to the creche to the babies
there for some hands on training. I know that crechemaster Maran and
crechemaster Dolan won’t mind since they have allowed such
arrangements before.” With other Jedi that was but to be fair,
Obi-Wan’s baby parent was not a Jedi.

It
was Cody.

And
Cody was safe just like any other clone.

When
Obi-Wan yawned a bit Cody tugged him into his chest. “Alright but
we can talk about this later. Right now I think its best you close
your eyes or else Helix might come scold us both.” Cody teased
gently, his heart beating a rapid tattoo as he held his lover close.

Humming
a bit, Obi-Wan did indeed close his eyes. “…You can tell whoever
you want right now though. I just wanted to avoid the stress with
Anakin, he went and looked up male pregnancy and then went and
hassled Helix for answers.” Obi-Wan chuckled sleepily.

“So
that’s why Helix looked so frazzled before we left.” Cody mused
out loud while rubbing his lovers back.

Obi-Wan
let out a soft humming noise once more, his breathing turning slow
and steady as he curled more into his lover.

“…We
could just keep everyone guessing who the parent is,” Cody chuckled
quietly. “Just take a few vode to the creche to learn baby care and
watch everyone be confused.” He glanced down and smiled softly as
Obi-Wan didn’t react, face buried in Cody’s chest and his
breathing deep. “…Yeah
okay, you just sleep sweetpea, we can figure this all out later.”
He pressed a kiss to the Jedi’s temple.
