If you’re taking new prompts, I binge read all the «Messy Sleep» fics of yours and Obi – wan’s gundark plushie nest is extremely cute and something I can easily relate to, perhaps Obi – wan is simply in need of something to cuddle with for better sleep?

When the solution was proposed, Cody had thought that ‘it can’t be that simple?’ while rubbing the back of his neck.

It sounded so…

Easy.

Things weren’t generally easy in their lives in Cody’s limited experience.

And yet…

“…Totally still.” Helix murmured, blinking tiredly beside the commander as they both observed their General.

It was way past the point of Obi-Wan usual night wandering but the Jedi had yet to as much as twitch on his bunk, curled up around a large nexu’s plushie that Cody had managed to convince commander Tano into buying for them.

It had actually been astoundingly easy, as he had managed to catch her while at the temple for the little downtime they got on Coruscant.

Once explained, she had been all for it and had even promised not to tell anyone what the plushie was for.

Apparently General Kenobi had been sleep walking in the temple too, moving around with people guiding him back and it was getting… well not directly bothersome but people were concerned.

So the Commander had quite willingly gotten a large plushie, slightly larger than a tooka.

The question after that came how they were suppose to get Obi-Wan to accept it.

In the end they decided that they were just going to slip it into the Jedi’s arms the next time he went sleep walking.

Lo and behold, first day back on the Negotiator, Obi-Wan was up on his feet, wandering through the halls, both Helix and Cody quickly summoned by the alerts on the Jedi’s door going off.

It didn’t take long to find him, in the ship it was harder for the Jedi to get lost and he didn’t exactly walk quickly.

So Helix and Cody herded him back to his room quite easily, having become quite practiced with it as they guided him to bed and Helix, quick as a whip, slid the plush into the Jedi’s grasp.

For a long moment, nothing had happened and Cody couldn’t help but taste the bitter taste of disappointment.

But then Obi-Wan had shifted and curled his arms around the plush, breathing out heavily and then settled, nose buried in the fur of the nexu. And after that he hadn’t moved in the almost two hours Cody and Helix had observed.

Occasionally the door had opened, the night guard peeking in and giving them a salute before glancing to the Jedi before disappearing, checking in on the Jedi as had become the norm.

But maybe they had found a solution?

“…How you going to make sure he doesn’t put it away?” Cody murmured, frowning slightly at the Medic as the two got up from the desk as quietly as possible.

“Very easily, either he cuddles the nexus or I start trapping him in the medbay,” Helix grumbled, making his way quietly out the door. “You know he hates it there.” He huffed slightly.

Lips quirking slightly, Cody couldn’t help but think that Helix took that a bit personally.

Glancing back, Cody couldn’t help but smile fully as Obi-Wan nuzzled into the plush in his arms. ‘Sleep well General…’

Messy sleep- okay, quit teasing. How does the gundark encounter happen? Or keep teasing, with the soft comfort of Obi-Wan being cared for by troopers. But the gundark thing is going to keep Cody’s stress levels going crazy, isn’t it?

Scratching his head, Cody stared at his General in bemusement.

When they had woken up due to the alarms on the General’s tent going of, Cody had quite literally gone running out of his own tent still half asleep and barefoot.

On each side of him, Gregor and Longshot was standing, both with the flashlights leveled and aimed at their Jedi as they had followed his tracker as fast as they could and Cody could faintly hear a few other troopers following since they weren’t returning.

A part of him was proud of his men, his brothers, for coming to check for their sleepwalking Jedi.

But most of him was just trying to take in the current situation.

They were currently stationed at the outskirts of an abandoned city, making base close to it as it provided them with more shelter for the wind and elements by being close to it. The buildings were tall enough for it but due to the Seppies, a few of them had suffered broken windows and walls.

An eerie ghost town honestly, with the wind whistling in through some broken windows occasionally.

Made a few uneasy, even though there was nothing wrong with the city.

But Cody had been relieved honestly, because despite the broken glass in the streets and rubble, there would be NO gundarks around here.

Or so he thought.

Because Obi-Wan had somehow managed to walk, without stepping on any glass or anything other sharp, through the streets and into a toy shop that had toy gundarks of all things.

Soft toys.

He was piled up in ‘nest’ made of gundark plushies and Cody couldn’t stop scratching his head in bemusement.

He had been waiting on this for how long?

Only for Obi-Wan to somehow circumvent his expectation.

It was on par with a Jedi of course but still.

Gregor of course were taking photos of the sight of Obi-Wan coiled up in the plushies, looking quite content as he snored into it.

“…Are we going to leave him here sir?” Longshot finally whispered as the brothers milled around the broken shop, all of them getting a good look at the sleeping Jedi. “I mean, its warm and safe here but it isn’t camp…” The man trailed off.

Pausing, Cody glanced at the other and then back at Obi-Wan.

He understood the pros and cons of either.

If he stayed there, nothing else would happen and they knew where he was. But if they left him there, he might not sleep well and he was outside their camp should something happen.

But if they moved him, he might wake, one shouldn’t wake a sleepwalker and they would have to, ahem, carry him if so. But they would know he was in camp, he would sleep well in his bed…

Sighing, Cody rubbed his face before slowly approaching, eyeing the curled up Jedi before reaching in and carefully shifting the man into his arms, flushing slightly when Obi-Wan gave a small noise and nuzzled into him.

‘Least he isn’t waking…’ Cody noted, ignoring Gregor fanatically snapping more pictures of what was happening.  “Alright sir… back to bed.” Cody whispered, slowly, with the help of Longshot using his flashlight, moving out from the toy store.

Never a dull moment with the Jedi.

Messysleep! (my last one was for that too, I don’t think I said) So, Does Obi-Wan go wondering on Campaign? Does Cody tag the tent? Do they get him before he wonder off? Why is Obi-Wan sleep walking again after so long of not doing it?

Attaching
the alerts to the bottom of the tent, Cody gave a satisfied nod to
himself before slowly straightening and cracking his back, giving a
little grunt. ‘There, if he starts to wander the night any day, the
alert in my comm will go off the moment he walks outside the tent
doors.’ He smiled in satisfaction
before looking around for his General.

He
found him over by Boil and Waxer in conversation
about….something.

He
wasn’t about to go over and ask, Boil and Waxer could have anything
going on and Cody wanted deniable plausibility if the Ghost members
were up to something.

Always
have deniable plausibility when it comes to the vode if you’re in
command, it’s best for your sanity.

Like
officially the command knew nothing about the rotgut being brewed
around by various members of
the GAR.

That
didn’t mean they didn’t get their hands on a bottle sometimes
because seriously, dealing with the natural born command or the Jedi
required at least a sip of alcohol now and then.

‘Especially
if they apparently sleep walk and fall out of their bunks.’ Cody
gave the little attaches a glance and then rolled his shoulders
before going off to find Geller and Hotpack, those two were going to
be on Kenobi sleep duty.

It
was about four am when the alerts went off and Cody, who hadn’t
bothered to fully slide out of his lower armor, rolled out of bed the
instant it went off and was already out of his tent before he really
had time to think, a flashlight in his hand as he leveled it at the
General’s tent.

Inwardly
he cursed as he noticed that Yellow, one of the new shinys, was
sitting on a duracrate and had clearly dozed off at some point but
that wasn’t what Cody could focus on as he turned the flashlight
around quickly, trying to catch a glimpse of his General in the dark
camp with limited light.

There,
the soft beige of a tunic.

On
it’s way out
of camp.

With
a muffled curse, Cody closed the distance fast and put his flashlight
in his mouth as he carefully manged to turn his General around with
both hands on the man’s shoulder, gently encouraging further into
the camp.

The
movements had alerted others and more light was coming on much to
Cody’s relief as he continued slowly shepherding the sleeping Jedi
back, curious troopers peeking out only to watch in resignation as
Cody continued guiding Obi-Wan.

Least
there weren’t any gundarks on this planet, so he wouldn’t be
walking into a gundark nest.

However
when they got to the General’s tent, Obi-Wan resisted with a
grouchy sounding mewl.

Thinking,
Cody glanced towards the medtent to find Helix, wanting to get advice
from the medic only to blink when the medic gestured to Cody’s own
tent, privilege of being a commander.

Rolling
his eyes, Helix let out a loud, tired grunt before finger spelling to
Cody, gaining a few muffled laughs as the words registered in the dim
lights to everyone.

“Bunk
share.”

Helix
wanted Cody to share his bunk with the General and while that wasn’t
a bad idea, it would let Cody look after Obi-Wan after all, it was a
bit… well this was a Jedi, well enough they had all cuddled
together during that mission where their heaters stopped working but
this wasn’t a matter of survival.

Glancing
at his General, Cody rolled his shoulders, feeling sleep
stiff
muscles protest before he carefully herded the sleeping Jedi towards
his own tent and this time Obi-Wan didn’t make a single protest,
making Cody frown ever so slightly to himself.

Maybe
Obi-Wan needed someone around him to sleep easier?

It
was worth a shot, maybe they could avoid him walking into that cursed
gundark nest Cody kept imagining.

But
right now Cody just had to figure out how to get both himself and his
General onto the narrow bunk as he half noticed lights shutting off
around him once more.

Not a prompt but I just imagined Obi-Wan (who is a messy sleeper and you can’t convince me otherwise) bunking in the barracks for some reason and just, rolling off of a top bunk in the middle of the night and scaring the crap out of everyone. I just wanted to share that visual with you.

When
the General had showed up to do some planning with Cody, no one had
minded, even though the hours dragged on and Cody remained with the
General the entire time.

Honestly,
it was nice to see General Kenobi up and about since the man had been
injured during their last skirmish and Helix was visibly restraining
himself from practically pouncing him to check him over.

So
having him in barracks, eating dinner with Cody when the day dragged
on to night and further on until very late at night wasn’t the
worst thing the 212th
had happen and the others didn’t mind, only saluted the cheerful
General, who kept giving them smiles if they meet his eyes.

They
were less happy about said General’s plans of returning to the
temple at three am in the night and Cody finally put his foot down,
offering up one of the free bunks in the 212th
space.

It
had taken a bit of coaxing and some emotional blackmail via Waxer
making what was called puppy dog eyes, which had looked rather
demented and had worked to make General Kenobi laugh instead, but he
had given in with a smile and agreed to bunk with Cody and the vode
that shared the room with him.

Boil
got the bunk ready while Obi-Wan called in to the temple to inform
them he wouldn’t be in coming back
in that night and to make sure Skywalker didn’t hunt him down
because he thought the General had been abducted by a fan.

Which
had happened once.

Very
messy situation really.

But
finally they were all tucked in for the night and much to the
troopers amusement, Obi-Wan was asleep in moments, obviously
exhausted and willing to sleep anywhere pretty much.

For
about half an hour, everything was normal in the dark room.

Vode
spoke together quietly so not to wake anyone already asleep from
their bunks or gathered together in the bunk of whoever they were
speaking with, some were reading a few pages of whatever novel they
were interested in, their pads lighting up their faces from their
bunks in whatever position they were laying or sitting in and some
were of course asleep.

You
could pointedly hear some people snoring and if Cody were to take a
guess, someone in the room was also snogging and he was willing to
put a bet on Boil and Waxer since those two had been in the same bunk
even before the light turned off.

Cody
noted with some amusement that Obi-Wan was shifting above him in the
bunk, soft creaks and shuffles reaching Cody as he himself took their
time on Coruscant to do some free time reading.

He
was just getting into the juiciest chapter yet, the duchess had been
caught having quite the affair with her maid and
the stable boy when Obi-Wan rolled around in the bunk above him…
and fucking fell out of it, falling past Cody’s bunk opening in a
dark shape with the blanket around him and hitting the ground with a
large thump and a yelp.

Sitting
up hurriedly, barking out for the light to be turned on, Cody stared
at his General in shock as the man stared back at him from the floor,
wrapped up in the blanket as if it was a snake coiling around him.

Around
them, other troopers were either now awake or even half out of their
bunks, also staring at the General as he laid on the durasteel floor.

Several
seconds went by and then finally Cody sprung out of his bunk and
knelt down as the General slowly sat up, wincing a bit. “Well that
hasn’t happened in a long while, apologies.” He directed, his
voice raspy from sleep and stunned, wincing when Helix made his way
towards them with a determined expression on his face.

“General,
what the stang just happened?” Cody questioned, eyes a bit wider
than usual.

It’s
not every day you see your own General come tumbling down from a bunk
above you after all!

Wincing
as he unwrapped himself and outright flinching when Helix prodded at
his face, having landed on it, Obi-Wan gave Cody a sheepish smile.
“Now, I’m not sure commander, but I do believe I just tried to
sleep walk.” He rasped out as Helix gave him a check for concussion
swiftly.

Both
Helix and Cody paused at that and the troopers, who had been in the
process of settling back into their bunks, stared at the Jedi as the
medic slowly dropped his hands in surprise.

He
just stared back at them, nonplussed before giving a shrug. “I’m
not really a calm sleeper, I tend to move. That includes sleep
walking, but I have to admit, it’s been quite a few years since
last time.” Obi-Wan looked up at the bunk and then batted Helix
hand away when the medic tried to poke him again. “Oh, I’m
alright Helix, just some bruises for the morning.” He promised
while getting to his feet.

But
before he could climb up into the second bunk again, Cody pushed him
into his. “Oh no you don’t General. You’re taking my bunk and
I’m taking the top.” He stated sternly, grabbing his pad.

Grumbling
faintly, Obi-Wan peered at them before rolling his eyes.

Relaxing
at the lack of an argument, Cody turned a bit to give everyone a
look, the message clear.

‘Keep
an eye on the General.’

He
got faint nods of acknowledgment back.

If
that man wandered off anywhere in the barracks, they’d know and
they’d take care of it. ‘Sleep walking Jedi… what’s next? He
going to wander into a gundark nest in his sleep next campaign?’
Cody mentally grumbled to himself as he drew himself up into the top
bunk and got himself comfortable in the still warm bunk that smelled
of his general.

Then
he froze at his own line of thought and mentally cursed himself out.

Because
that?

That
was just meant that somehow, it was going to happen and Cody had
cursed them all. ‘Note to self, tag the General’s tent to alert
if he walks out of it in the middle of the night.’ He promised
himself as the light once more got turned off.

He’d
rather not have to rescue the Jedi from a gundark nest.
