In Care for me maybe Anakin finds that Obi-Wan is falling a part because he did not want to burden Anakin who has been sent in separate campaigns. Anakin finds that they need to develop a new ritual when he is away as Obi-Wan will not accept anyone else as his dom.
Need is burning and
itching beneath his skin but Anakin is doing his best to ignore the
urge because he has to focus even if Obi-Wan’s voice sounds so
plaintive when its just the two speaking over comms, separated as
they are by planets and galaxies.
But he knows that
his sub is in pain.
It hurts, he wants
so deeply to look him over, to hold him tight or at least get him on
holo to check for himself how bad it is.
But Anakin can’t.
Not right now.
He’s on a
campaign and has to keep his mind on the here and now as Obi-Wan has
told him, to keep his wit about him and overtake the Separatists
stronghold.
And the sooner he
can do that, the sooner he can be reunited with Obi-Wan.
It still hurts.
And it hurts even
worse when he finally has Obi-Wan in his arms again, the circles
beneath the redhead’s eyes so dark he looks like a damn panda and
he’s lost weight again. Cody gives him that look, that look full of
alarm at his General’s condition and its all Anakin needs to sweep
Obi-Wan away from everyone else to care for Obi-Wan, to get him to…
Relax.
They don’t do
anything that night because what Obi-Wan’s needs at that moment is
to damn well rest and give the reins over to someone else. And Anakin
takes the control Obi-Wan gives him, has Obi-Wan rest his head in
Anakin’s lap as finally the redhead sleeps with his head in
Anakin’s lap.
Its deep into the
night, sitting with Obi-Wan’s head in his lap as he strokes his
hair slowly, that an idea slowly forms in Anakin’s mind.
He’s thought
about it before but now it may be a way to keep Obi-Wan aware at all
times that he has someone who will care for him, someone who can hold
him and nurture him.
So Anakin dives
headfirst into research.
It still takes him
a month, a month he can happily spend with Obi-Wan at his side,
before he finally gets his hand on what he’s looking for.
And that’s when
he gets nervous because what if Obi-Wan doesn’t approve, doesn’t
like the idea. Its not something they have ever talked about but…
Its worth a try.
So Anakin speaks
with Rex and Cody, has them distract Ahsoka and by the look in their
eyes, they seem to know what’s going on though not the details.
Cody honestly looks relieved to Anakin but he’s not sure.
And with that taken
care of and privacy ensured, Anakin goes to fetch Obi-Wan, taking his
lover gently by the hand to pull him close.
“Anakin? What’s
going on? Don’t think I haven’t noticed you talking to both the
good captain and my own commander.” Obi-Wan murmured, still
following willingly to their assigned temporary quarters for as long
as they are planetside.
“I have something
for you, but I’m not sure you’ll like it.” Anakin murmured,
holding tightly onto Obi-Wan’s hand until they were inside and he
could lock the door.
The room wasn’t
large, it was just two beds that they had pushed together, a bench
with a table and a small fresher connected to it all.
But for them it was
enough and Anakin turned slowly to his lover, smiling at him. “Armor
and tunic… off.” He murmured.
Realization lit up
on Obi-Wan’s face and he quickly set to removing armor and setting
it on the table until he was in his leggings alone, peering at Anakin
with curiosity as he had certainly not forgotten Anakin’s words but
patient enough not to ask again.
Taking a deep
breath, Anakin stepped forward and carefully kissed the other,
brushing his hands along the upper arms slowly before resting their
foreheads together, smiling when Obi-Wan hummed in pleasure.
Resting like that
it felt easier to reach into his pouch to pull out the silver collar,
barely as thick as the nail of his thumb. “I got this for you.”
Anakin whispered, lifting the collar so Obi-Wan could see.
Obi-Wan peered at
it, going utterly still.
It was a silver
thing with a clasp and a ring on it that could hold a leash or a
pendant all after desire. It looked like a necklace in this state but
Anakin had specially ordered this one, it was adjustable, could
tighten in to be snug on the neck and broaden until it covered a
throat. The inside was of a soft plush material that would be gentle
on Obi-Wan’s skin while the outside was a hardier metal of sort
with the tech for it hidden inside it.
Licking his lips
nervous and drawing back a bit, Anakin smiled weakly. “You don’t
have to wear it, I got it because I think you sometimes need a
reminder that I’m here for you but you don’t ha-”
“Please.”
Obi-Wan whispered, the word coming out through trembling lips before
he looked up at Anakin with wide eyes. “Put it on me?”
Slowly Anakin
wrapped the collar around Obi-Wan’s throat and closed the clasp,
carefully adjusting it until it was snug. “…Its adjustable. To
anyone else it would be a necklace. You could wear it everyday
without anyone being the wiser to what happens behind closed doors.”
Anakin whispered. “To you however it will be a reminder that I’m
here for you.” He found the little button on the clasp that would let him adjust
the broadness of the collar, letting it become just wide enough to be
felt with every breath Obi-Wan took. “And when we’re in private,
this can be done.”
He didn’t get to
say another word as Obi-Wan pulled him into a desperate kiss,
dragging him insistently to the bed.
It was a long,
tender night after that.
