Someone asks Quinlan why hes such good friends with old!Ben.

Quinlan murmured softly while pressing the glass of water into Ben’s
shaking hand, making sure the older man took the pills and didn’t
spill water all over himself before settling beside him and tugging
the white haired head to his shoulder, petting slowly while Qui-Gon
got the bath ready for a long soak.

He ignored Obi-Wan and Bant as he did and pretended not to notice
Garen and Reeft watching from the kitchen as they were unpacking and
preparing some of the approved snacks Ben was allowed.

Eventually Ben’s shaking subsided to everyone’s relief though
Quinlan took note of the still cold hands as he rubbed them steadily.
“Do you think you can eat some Ben before Qui-Gon takes you to the
fresher?” He questioned quietly, smiling when Ben nodded against
his shoulder. “Oh good because padawans Reeft and Garen are
fetching snacks from the kitchen, sliced fruits and blue yogurt.”

“…Honey yogurt?” Ben murmured hopefully.

Well it was good to know that Obi-Wan’s sweet tooth lasted until he
got old Quinlan thought in amusement before nodding. “Honey
yogurt.”

He made sure Ben ate half before Qui-Gon took him away for the bath,
the healing man still moving slower then he had in months.

“…You really are friends with him.” Quinlan looked at the
curious looking Dressellian. “I wasn’t sure if you were just
taking care of him or something but you’re friends.”

“Well yes. I like Ben.” Quinlan shrugged.

“Why? I mean I know he’s…” Reeft hesitated then glanced at
Obi-Wan who raised an eyebrow back at him. “Well yeah but Ben’s
not the same. And he’s kind of…”

“Broken?” The Kiffar shrugged. “I know. But I like him. He’s
familiar of course.” He nodded to Obi-Wan who shrugged back.
“But…I don’t get the same feeling when I’m around Obi-Wan.”

Now the copper haired man perked up. “Feel?”

“When I’m around him…I feel warm.” Quinlan rubbed the back of
his neck. “Calm. There’s a sensation in the air around him that
settles every thought in my mind and makes me feel…good.” Quinlan
shrugged a bit. “I don’t rightly know how to describe it. I tried
to with Master Tholme. He didn’t get it until he spent time around
Ben.”

Bant mulled over that before speaking up. “He feels safe to you,
doesn’t he. Like nothing can harm you if you stick around him
despite him being frail.”

That made Quinlan blink. “I guess? Not sure I would have put it
like that but perhaps. It feels like coming home after a long
mission. Only its every time I get close to him. And he’s funny,
has stories when he’s clear enough and…yeah I guess you’re
right. He makes me feel safe.”

Quinlan looked faintly puzzled by that, sitting back on the couch
before grinning at the padawans. “You know what? I don’t mind
that.”

“Heh. Good for you then.”

blind!obiwan?

“Where are you taking me Master Yoda?” Qui-Gon sighed, as if he
didn’t already know where the old troll was leading him.

This was one of several halls that lead to the Initiates wings. ‘He’s
going to try and foist a padawan onto me again.’ He thought dryly
even as he ignored the dull ache inside him at the thought of letting
someone that close to him again.

“Someone for you to meet I have. Young. Strong. But damaged like
you.” Yoda was never one to mince his words when he wanted to make
a impact.

“Master…I am not taking another padawan.”

“Meet him you will. Good it might do you to meet him.” Yoda
nodded to the master in charge of the wing and lead Qui-Gon in.

“Master Yoda, you here to see Obi-Wan again?” The Mon Calamari
glanced at Qui-Gon with a tiny frown then back to the grandmaster.

“We are, where is he?” Yoda looked over the younglings as if he
could spot the mop of red hair he was looking for.

“He and Bant are out in the gardens. She said he needed to get some
more sun and helped him out.”

‘Helped?’ Qui-Gon frowned a bit at that, was this Obi-Wan injured?

“Thank you Master Al-Jord.” Yoda hobbled away and Qui-Gon offered
the master a bow before following, once again noting a deeper frown
on her face as Qui-Gon followed Yoda out. It was almost as if the
master didn’t want Qui-Gon to meet this Obi-Wan.

“Is something wrong with this Obi-Wan master Yoda?” He asks
quietly and the old troll sighs quietly in return.

“Injured Obi-Wan was, attack on the creche children a few years
back when left unattended.” Yoda stopped to tap at the floor with
his grimer stick then looked up at Qui-Gon again. “Blinded he was
by acid, learned to see through other means he had to but struggle he
does.”

Qui-Gon blinked and followed the grandmaster when he continued
walking into the garden, finding a mon calamari Initiate sitting with
a redheaded boy.

The young boy had a cane resting across his lap and was talking
quietly with his friend, a small smile on his scarred face. The scars
were deep and a soft shade of pink from healing and treatment but
they made Qui-Gon’s stomach turn as it was obvious how painful they
must have been, especially for a child.

The mon calamari noticed them approach and looked to Qui-Gon with
surprise before getting up. “Obi master Yoda is here to see you
and…a friend. I’ll come get you later okay?”

“I can get around quite fine on my own Bant, you don’t have to
guide me around.” The redhead sighed before smiling, turning his
head towards Yoda. “Master Yoda.”

“Hello younglings.” Yoda chuckled softly and stopped in front of
Initiate. “A friend to meet you I have brought. Master Qui-Gon
Jinn.” The green troll quickly prodded him in the shin and Qui-Gon
bowed and offered his hand in greeting before realizing the child
wouldn’t be able to see it.

“A pleasure to meet you master Jinn.” A small hand catches his,
perhaps guided by his senses or perhaps by the Force as Obi-Wan holds
on tightly. Whatever it is, Qui-Gon feel’s a warmth inside of him as
he kneels down slowly and grasps the little hand with both of his,
feeling droplet shaped scars on the back of the little hand in his.

“I think youngling…the pleasure is all mine.” He offered
quietly, watching milky green eyes widen in surprise and then
curve in pleasure.
