Hi Moddy! Question…how is Vader(intime) avoiding the direct requests of Palpatine to visit him? Does ObiWan understand or maybe ‘Anakin’ drops a bit of ‘ooh creepy old man is giving me creepy vibes’? Has he figured out a way to reveal Palpatine’s double dealing? Just really wondering how this is heading, and huzzah for Vaderwan!

Blinking up at the
ceiling for a long moment, Obi-Wan finally manage to lift his head
and peek down at his chest where Anakin was latched onto him with his
arms around the knight’s waist. “Ani?” He wheezed.

“Don’t make me
go to him!” Anakin cried out, eyes wide, looking truly panicked.

“What?” Obi-Wan
finally sat up quickly, pushing the blond back to look at him
properly. “Don’t make you go where Anakin? What’s wrong?” He
held the others face.

The blond gave a
little sniffle that alarmed Obi-Wan even more as Anakin shifted to
sit on Obi-Wan’s knees, straddling them as he twisted his right
sleeve with his let hand. “T-The Chancellor. He… he told Master
Windu that the council could send me to him for conversations but the
chancellor creeps me out and I don’t want to be alone with him and
please don’t send me to the Rotund, I promise to be good Master
Obi-Wan!”

A proverbial verbal
diarrhea was escaping Anakin, rushed and panicked in its delivery
that was only cut off when Obi-Wan pulled his young padawan tightly
against his chest, hushing him while rocking the teenager who
trembled against his chest.

“No, no I won’t
send you to the Senate, to the Chancellor. Calm down Anakin, I’ll
talk with the Senate and explain you don’t feel comfortable with
the man.” Obi-Wan crooned, one arm wrapped around the boys shaking
frame and the other cupping the back of his padawan’s head to press
him against Obi-Wan’s collarbone. “I promise not to leave you
with him alone.” He assured.

Face pressed to the
folds of Obi-Wan’s collar, Anakin’s smile was hidden from the
galaxy.

Resting against
Obi-Wan’s side as the older man napped, Vader only felt a bit bad
for taking advantage of the others protective instincts.

Just a bit.

But he couldn’t
allow being left alone with Sidious as the other Sith was sure to
expose him for what he was if left too long in the others presence.
Because Vader knew that the other wasn’t stupid by any means and he
wasn’t going to give him a chance to discover the truth.

Slowly Vader
reached up and wrapped his hand around the japor amulet around his
master’s neck, smiling at the lacks face as he felt the heat of the
amulet responding to the creator of it.

He would make sure
to make Obi-Wan a great lunch as apology for taking advantage off
him, perhaps even a dessert though Vader wasn’t quite sure about
managing anything too fancy. Perhaps just a jiggly sort of pudding or
even just a fruit dessert?

Obi-Wan would like
that, he knew.

‘My pretty,
wonderful Obi-Wan.’ He thought fondly before shifting up slowly and
pressing a soft kiss to his forehead, carefully slipping off the
couch to drop into the kitchen to get started on the lunch as Obi-Wan
continued resting on the couch with soft puffs of air escaping him.

It was best Obi-Wan
ate before he talked to the council.

‘I wonder if I
can be in the room when he explains why I don’t want to see
Palpatine.’ He mused, a small smirk crossing his face at the
thought. Maybe he could play it up a bit, shuffle his feet around,
muttering about creepy men and how he stared at ‘Anakin’.

Oh he could already
imagine the throbbing vein in Windu’s temple…

Hey Moddy! So what would you do with ‘blackbirdembrace’ if, say, Vader doesn’t realize just how fast ObiWan gets his full sight back, and maybe goes online with one of his undercover personas to check out the «real» news, and conspiracy theories, and police records and hey, he’s a Councillor and his access was never wiped and ObiWan gets a better idea of what EXACTLY happened to his family… eep?

Letting out a
frustrated breath, Obi-Wan rubbed his face and then squinted at the
terminal again as he tried to slice his way into the galaxy wide
holonet once more. It was rather difficult to bypass all the security
Anakin had put into place and at this point he was getting rather
frustrated at all the lockdowns he was encountering.

But no one could
say that Obi-Wan wasn’t a stubborn man.

So he continued,
carefully trying to work his way around it all.

It had come as a
shock to discover in the years he had been gone that the standing GAR
had been replaced with normal people but then again an Empire needed
an army Obi-Wan thought grimly and it had been in Palpatine’s best
interest to stop using clones as fodder for his schemes at some
point.

Mournfully he
wondered what had become of Cody and the rest of his men but he
didn’t quite dare to ask Anakin.

Something inside
him told him it was best not to make the other think he was…

What?

Missing Cody?

He was though,
Obi-Wan’s second in command had been a superb commander and man, a
friend that Obi-Wan knew he could rely on through thick and thin.

So it came to a
shock to him when he finally managed to slice through the terminal
and got to the holonet to see…

Clones shooting
Jedi, a blurry shot for sure but…

That was clearly
clone armor, the vode armor and that was a woman in Jedi robes with a
lightsaber being shot down in close range.

Obi-Wan must have
transmitted his distress into the Force because the door slammed open
suddenly to Anakin’s overwhelming Force sense of rage and
protectiveness before it flunked out with realization and horror at
the same time as he finally got a view of Obi-Wan.

Slowly Obi-Wan
managed to look away from the blurry recording looping to look at
Anakin, eyes wide and his face pale as he stared at the blond.
“…Anakin… what in karks name happened while I was frozen?” He
managed to rasp out, getting to his feet to stagger towards the other
even as Anakin reached out and grasped him by the shoulders.

“Obi-Wan, you
need to calm down, this isn’t good for yo-” He tried to assure
but Obi-Wan rasped out a hysterical laughter.

“Good for me!?”
He knocked the others hands of off him. “Do you… were you
involved in that!?” Obi-Wan pointed at the screen, feeling like his
heart was thundering in his chest. “Did you attack my
family?!”

Anakin said
nothing, just stared at him with those awful yellow eyes of his.

But that silence
meant more then a thousand words to Obi-Wan who knew Anakin despite
the years that had gone past, despite the changes that had happened
he still knew Anakin better then anyone else.

He staggered away
from the other, knees folding beneath him as the full implication of
what he had found hit him.

Anakin and the vode
had killed the Order, had erased the lives of the people Obi-Wan had
grown up with and trusted as his family from the galaxy as if they
meant…

Nothing.

Trembling hands
pressed to his face as Obi-Wan took a shuddering sharp breath, his
chest hurting from the sheer pain of all.

A gloved hand
rested lightly on top of his head, stroking his hair for a second
before Anakin spoke.

“Obi-Wan sleep.

The Force
suggestion hit him with no defense in place and he folded to the
rugged floor with a quiet exhalation.

At this point he
welcomed oblivion if only to give him a break from the galaxy at
large.

Pssst, Everdark/blinded Obi… they missed a bug egg. And now Obi, who is reacting to so much, can feeeeel something, and it’s wiggling. What do you think? Massive psychiatric trauma for everybody!!

It sounded like scratching, like
something was twitching in his head.

Obi-Wan struggled to move along, cane
on the floor as he hesitantly made his way around the temple as
everyone’s thoughts and emotions brushed out against him before
they noticed him and shored up their own shields to help him.

He knew that everyone could feel him in
return.

His shielding were shoddy and ruined
since Maul’s attack and the loss of his eyes. Sometimes Obi-Wan
woke up swearing he could feel the bugs and smell the honey still, a
silent cry on his lips, his mind feeling raw from the day where he
had no barriers to protect him anymore.

And it was getting worse.

He couldn’t shield worth shavit
anymore.

He was broadcasting worse than an
initiate and so far he’d been taken aside by no less then four
fellow council members in an attempt to help him.

And yet…

Obi-Wan was getting worse, it was
getting so bad that even borrowed shields were degrading too quickly
to justifies the power use and he swore he could feel something
moving inside of his head.

There was something wrong, Obi-Wan was
sure of it and at this point of his paranoia he was almost willing to
go to the healers to check but…

He knew, from feeling others emotions
and thoughts, that they thought he was being paranoid and having
flashback.

But…

Stopping against the wall so he
wouldn’t be in anyone’s way, Obi-Wan reached up to touch the
bandages wrapped around his empty eye sockets, brushing it as gently
as he could to feel where it would dent in. His fingers came away wet
and after a moment of shock, Obi-Wan lowered his fingers to sniff it.

It smelled like infection and with that
Obi-Wan turned around and headed back the hall he had come with his
heart beating rapidly.

He was going to the healers.

()()()

“Well it seems like there might be an
infection master Kenobi.” Healer Querno said cheerfully as he
continued unwrapping his bandages.

Obi-Wan forced himself not to think or
say anything as he knew that he had no shielding, because remaining
on a healers good side was important and Obi-Wan was going to think
something very bad if Querno continued to be so cheerful about the
damn situation and heard Anakin laugh quietly at that thought,
imagining the other leaning against the wall as he watched Obi-Wan.

Right, broadcasting. Stupid Anakin
catching him on the way to the healers.

“Now now Master Kenobi, I know the
situation is less than ideal but I’m sure we can handle it.”
Querno laughed with Anakin, removing the last of the bandage off
Obi-Wan’s face to expose the empty sockets. “Now le-” Whatever
Querno was going to say was broken off by a loud SQUEAK and Obi-Wan’s
hands clenched down on the bed in shock as Anakin gave a loud and
vulgar huttese curse.

Shaking, Obi-Wan could feel something
crawling out of his right socket, wiggling slowly inside the cavity
as it did with the brush of what must be wings touching the edges,
something with tiny sticky legs and if his tear ducts still worked he
would have been crying at that moment he was pretty sure.

Anakin’s hands, something Obi-Wan was
able to tell from the way it was a mech and flesh arm, clamped down
on his upper arms to keep him still as the healer jerked into motion,
Obi-Wan feeling the brief touch of metal against his cheek before
there was a jerk and then a stamping of a foot on the floor and a
crunching noise.

Silence.

Trembling as he listened to the healer
panting with both his and Anakin’s shock battered against his mind,
Obi-Wan finally gave into a whimper. “Please… put me under. Put
me under right now.” He whispered out.

Blessed darkness greeted him as Anakin
instantly followed the request without hesitation.

Oh giggles. Yourwords au, Bail comes to visit Obiwan and maybe afterwards informs Vader of how the Imperial staff are slyly undercutting Obi when Vader is not around? Obi being so tired and damaged doesn’t really notice, but that kind of negativity may compromise his healing? And by the way, would Obiwan and Vader like to (gulp) maybe come to Alderaan for a short visit? Pretty please moar!?

Now Bail shouldn’t be thinking this,
he knew there was a man beneath the helmet mask after all but still…

‘He actually has a face. He’s
eating cookies in my office.’ Bail blinked slowly as he stared at
the scarred face of the formerly so handsome Anakin Skywalker and
tried to get his mind to work again.

“I’m not sure why you are inviting
me to Alderaan Senator, if this is a ploy of some kind, its a very
weak one.” Darth Vader drawled, pulling on one of the bigger burn
scars near his lips as yellow eyes flickered in a mix of suspicion
and confusion.

Flickering his tongue over his lips to
moisten them, Bail nodded. “I see it would come off as confusing
Lord Vader but you are the primary caretaker of Obi-Wan. And taking
him to a green planet may do him some good especially with the
current situation but I do not believe you would let him go alone
after everything that’s happened to him.” He picked up his cup,
taking a sip before he nervously offered the rest. “And you’d be
welcome to dine with… with my family and me.”

Yellow eyes flashed with understanding
at that.

A chance to see and meet Leia.

To at least see one of the twins, one
of Padme’s children.

“…Greenery would perhaps be good
for Obi-Wan.” Vader agreed quietly before passing his mech hand
over his bald dome as brows scrunched together. “What do you mean
about the current situation?” He sat back in his chair, reaching
for the cup of caff Bail had made for him.

Bail’s brow went high.

Vader didn’t know?

He opened his mouth, closed it while
running his hand over his goatee as he tried to figure out how to put
it for the other. “You… are aware that parts of the Emperor’s
staff is… none to happy about Obi-Wan’s continued… presence.”
Bail almost said survival but managed to cull that urge.

He received a sharp nod and the
tightening of lips for his efforts.

“Yes well, they aren’t quite about
it. So far Obi-Wan has not noticed their… heckling I suppose I
should say but eventually he will. It would not be a healthy
atmosphere for someone that’s recovering already from trauma.”
Bail continued.

There was a crack and then caff started
to drip from the cup he had given Vader, slowly staining the
expensive carpet covering the floor.

“… I see.” Was all Vader said
after a few moments before he set the cup down on Bail’s desk with
what he’d almost say was an empty look.

If it wasn’t for the way Vader’s
eyes turned from yellow to burning orange to red in seconds.

Bail found it best to remain quiet

“…I want names Senator Organa. And
a date for when you want Obi-Wan and I to come to Alderaan.” The
intimidating man stood, staring down at him and Bail felt a shiver of
fear travel his spine at that look, the burns scars took nothing of
the mans intimidation from him. “I want an answer by tonight.”

He nodded quickly and watched Vader
leave, breathing out sharply when he was sure the man was far enough
away.

Oh Force how did Obi-Wan do this!?

‘I need a long vacation.’ Bail
wearily rubbed his face.

()()()

“Depilatory cream?” Anakin picked
it off the table, raising a brow as he stared at it curiously before
he leveled a long, curious look at Obi-Wan.

“Mmmn, I’m… having infections. In
the gums and jaw.” Obi-Wan tucked his legs more underneath himself
on the couch while peering back at him with his pad resting on his
lap. “I need to have a surgery done and the medics want me to
remove my beard for it.” He reached up and rubbed his face lightly
before sighing. “Its going to be so odd, I haven’t really been
beardless for long except that…” He bit his bottom lip, peering
up at Anakin.

The man blinked a bit before making a
low noise.

The Hardeen incident.

He took a deep breath at the reminder
before nodding in understanding.

So many things they were leaving in the
past to avoid friction…

“I see.” He murmured, settling the
can down again before moving to him and sitting down. “You’re
going to be alright.” He promised, carefully cupping Obi-Wan’s
jaw in his hand and leaning in close to press their foreheads
together. “I know you will be alright.” He grinned before
flickering his eyes down at the pad. “…Is that a karking romance
novel?”

And instantly a wrestling match (a very
careful one) ensued.

“Its a classical Anakin!”

“Its cheesy erotic spacer romance!”

remove my beard for it.” He reached up and rubbed his face lightly
before sighing.

Well, this is me going full evil. Everdark/blinded Obi, Maul hurts Obi and his friends with the torture, but what about a mental torture? This Force inhibitor is maybe a non-standard one? Maybe Sith? Maybe designed to oh, say, DESTROY THE ABILITY TO SHIELD?? So as Obi wakes up from the seriously strong sleeping drug he/they find out he can no longer block ANYTHING/ANYONE. OWWW

Breathing slow, Obi-Wan laid on his side with his hands near his
head. He tried not to move, tried not to give the indication that he
was awake because he knew the moment he moved, he knew that Kix would
call for Anakin.

And Obi-Wan needed…

Force he needed just a few moments.

Just…

Everything hurt.

Everything hurt because his eyes… the bugs… the sand filling the
gaps, the gnawing of little mouths…

The memory made him shudder and a breath harsher then the rest escape
him.

“General?” Kix voice, a gentle touch to his shoulder but Obi-Wan
remained still beneath the touch even as Kix pressed his fingers to
his neck to test his pulse.

Slowly, hesitantly retreating, Kix left him alone again.

Obi-Wan wasn’t honestly sure he had tricked the medic but after ten
minutes, he figured he might have when Anakin did not suddenly
appeared.

There was another part to being blind too though.

The Force suppressor Maul had used had been of Sith design, the
effect of it on his mind becoming clear when he woke up to feel the
entire ship and its living inhabitants like stabbing needles, unable
to bring up a shield to guard his battered mind until Anakin provided
help, holding the blinded man until Obi-Wan could bring battered
shields into existence that was slowly corroding until Anakin had
provided him with a steady shield created by the younger Jedi under
stuttered instructions from Obi-Wan.

There was a sound of a door opening, a soft swish with quiet steps
leaving.

Obi-Wan took a deeper breath then slowly sat up on the bed, arms
trembling a bit before he lifted them and reached around, trying to
navigate a bit towards the end of the bed. Slowly he found his way to
the base and sat there for what felt like an hour but must have been
a minute before Obi-Wan slowly pushed himself up on trembling legs.

As he did, he felt Anakin’s alarm as the younger Jedi finally
noticed he was awake and on the move.

Kark.

Blindly, Obi-Wan made his trembling way towards the fresher, stubbing
his toes the entire way and bumping his hands into other beds.

But he still reached the fresher before Anakin reached the medbay.

Slowly Obi-Wan shed his clothes and stepped into the fresher, keeping
the bandages around his head on as he turned on the faucet, needing…

He swore he could still feel sand despite being assured he had been
cleaned up but he needed water, needed it to just…he could still
feel the bugs.

He shuddered a bit, feeling the spray of lukewarm water roll down his
body, soaking the bandages.

There was a knock on the door. “Obi-Wan? Can I come in?”

Obi-Wan waited for a few moments before answering. “Yes Anakin.
Come in.”

There was a cool sensation of air for a few seconds as the door
opened and then closed quickly. “Hey… you’re awake again.”
The blond greeted.

“Mmmn…” Obi-Wan remained under the spray, morbidly wondering if
he was getting water in his eye sockets. He could feel Anakin watch
him quietly and was about to say something because it felt like he
should when the other spoke up.

“Want me to wash your hair and back? I imagine you feel like you
got sand all over.” Anakin questioned.

“…Please?” Obi-Wan whispered. He kept still as Anakin
approached him, half wondering if the other had removed his tunic
before just settling as gentle hands started to rub soap into his
hair under the spray. “… Thank you Anakin.” He whispered,
barely heard over the spray.

Gentle hands didn’t stop their task. “I got your back Obi-Wan.”
The blond quietly assured.
