Excellent new bit for Dangerous Galaxy!!!Ooooh, hope the eye and ear damage is temporary. Or I guess Cody and Wolffe will match a bit more?

Tired and slightly numb with his feet feeling weirdly warm, Cody decided that being in the medics hands wasn’t so bad as he rested among the pillows under his warm, thick blanket.

At least when he was actually in a bad state and was drugged to the gills that was.

It was decent, warm, he wasn’t in a hella lot of pain and despite his face feeling weird, mix of bacta, bandages and whatever else Helix had put there, he was actually fairly content as it was even with the Iv in his hand.

Despite all the fires raging over Coruscant and who knew what else, he felt like going to sleep actually, able to trust his vode to take care of everything. ‘I wonder how many coup leaders can think that?’ Cody wondered in a bit of bemusement.

But sleeping did not occur as suddenly the doors opened to the medbay along with swift steps.

Not plastoid boots, not the vode armored boots.

Soft leather, hard soles…heel.

‘Obi-Wan.’ Cody thought, moments before a soft cry of his name reached him, Cody opening his eyes to find Obi-Wan hovering over him, Helix coming panting after the Jedi.

“Oh Cody,” Obi-Wan breathed out, reaching out to brush his fingertips beneath the bandage covered eye. “What… what happened?” He whispered.

Leaning into the hand, Cody let out a small hum. “Blew up, Palpatine’s corps.” He slurred a tad, tired and drugged as he was.

“It blew up?” Obi-Wan questioned incredulously, eyes wide. “Are you alright?” He tacked on, eyes worriedly glancing over him, taking in all he could.

Cody grimaced but nodded into the others hand, smiling slightly as Obi-Wan fully cupped his cheeks with both hands, thumbs carefully prodding.

Oh, that was nice. No, that was beyond nice and Cody wanted to have Obi-Wan’s hands remain on him forev- ‘Woooah there Kot’ika, pack that in.’ Cody’s thoughts, sounding like Alpha-17 growling, went a full three hundred and sixty in its process even as he continued leaning into the careful hands.

While Cody had long been aware just how far his feelings for his General went, with what the vode had discovered… a lot were more careful about their feelings when it came to their Jedi, a lot more careful. And Cody had to be doubly so now, now that he was in a position of power.

The last thing he wanted was for Obi-Wan to catch wind and feel… obligated.

With the decades… no, centuries really, of abuse the Jedi order had been exposed to by their government, all the vode had figured that they didn’t have what would constitute as a ‘normal’ view on such things.

Or at least what the vode understood as normal, seeing as the government had also engaged in a system wide slavery for their army but the kind of abuse the Jedi had been under, that they were looking into their own now for, that had been going on for generations.

So Cody had to be careful, even as he let those hands comfort him.

There was no way Cody was going to put his General, his Jedi, into a situation remotely like what the man had experienced for decades now. Obi-Wan had to have a warped view on personal relationship with the people in power, many Jedi would likely have a warped view honestly, after so much abuse from the powers that be.

That power was now Cody.

There was no way in hell Cody was going to have Obi-Wan think he was obligated to do anything of that nature for Cody.

So, he tampered down on his feelings and settled back in the bed, smiling a tad meekly at the worried looking Jedi as the redhead’s hands faltered a bit in the air. “Some eye and ear damage. Helix says that my left ear is likely permanently effected but my eye should be fine.” Cody answered quietly, blinking slowly and a tad sleepily.

From the way Obi-Wan was looking at him, Cody felt pretty sure he hadn’t projected his feelings out on him, despite how out of it Cody felt. “Maybe one of the healers from the temple could take a look at your ear?” He offered a tad quietly, licking his lips worriedly, hand moving down to capture one of Cody’s own, seemingly needing the reassurance of touch.

Stepping in, Helix spoke up. “We would appreciate that, as our Vod’alor, Cody should be in the best shape possible,” He stated a tad gratefully, Cody snorting softly only to turn wary when the medic turned mischievous. “And our Supreme Chancellor.”

That got a deep groan from Cody as Helix laughed, the evil bastard. “Ugh, don’t remind me. I have to deal with the karking Senate.” He huffed out, grouching a tad.

The reaction had Obi-Wan’s lips twitching, squeezing his hand gently. “But you don’t have to listen to them.” He pointed out a tad slyly, smiling abashedly at both troopers giving him a surprised look.

Shaking himself, Cody couldn’t help but smirk wryly. “True, I don’t have to. But I don’t intend for this to be a tyrannical reign, so some concessions will have to be made.” He mulled over it before grunting and rubbing at his temple with his free hand.

“But not right now,” Helix stated firmly, lips pursed before turning to Obi-Wan. “Apologies General, but Vod’alor needs rest.” He stated calmly if a tad regretfully.

However, Obi-Wan simply shook his head. “No, you warned me Helix. Just a few minutes,” He smiled slightly, turning back to Cody to squeeze his hand carefully. “Please get ample rest Cody. You certainly deserve it.” He stated softly.

‘I don’t want you to go, please stay, just until I’m asleep…’ Cody didn’t voice his thought, just smiled as rakishly as he could as he settled back, his hand almost feeling cold as Obi-Wan drew back. “Aye, aye sir.” He chuckled.

For sightlessbird, I love the relationship between Anakin and Obi – can we get some more bonding time with them?

Sitting in the cold rain of Kamino with his robe tucked tightly around both himself and his precious cargo, Anakin let out a deep sigh. “You know, if Qui-Gon saw us, he’d be scolding us.” He stated a tad wryly as the rain continued to pound down on them.

Obi-Wan had wanted to experience a proper rain storm.

The regulated climate of Coruscant wasn’t quite the same thing and the rain ‘season’ of the room of a Thousand gardens wasn’t either.

Anakin just didn’t have it in him to deny his padawan and he still loved rain, a childhood on a desert planet had made him treasure rain and water and to sit in the rain…

Well, he did that quite a bit actually as a child once he became a padawan and old enough to leave on missions.

Giggling slightly, Obi-Wan simply leaned back into Anakin. “But he’s not hereeee.” He singsonged, lighting up with pleasure when Anakin chuckled quietly.

Honestly, Anakin wasn’t being a fool about it either. He had insisted Obi-Wan sit in his lap, had brought out a small kneeling chair, which elevated them up from the cold and wet platform and had brought his robe, keeping it wrapped around both to keep the rain out, since Anakin’s preferred robe was weaved of mixed fabric to keep rain and wind out but keep heat inside.

So while they were getting somewhat wet, they weren’t soaking, despite sitting already for a good half hour.

He was also very aware that several clones had already peeked out at them and the exasperation from Rex mingled with the shinies of Kamino’s bewilderment.

After all, you had to be crazy to stay out in a downpour on Kamino, right?

Anakin didn’t mind, Obi-Wan a warm form in his lap and against his chest, his head resting on the boy’s forehead.

After his conversation with Padme, he needed the soothing quiet.

It wasn’t that he was… angry directly.

Not anymore.

Or throwing a tantrum, regardless what others would say.

He knew his wife wasn’t all powerful, had seen it often.

But when he begged her to help Ahsoka… begged even Palpatine…

He tightened his grip around the small body in his lap, swallowing thickly only to smile shakily when he felt a small, saber callused hand wrap around his wrist, thumb rubbing at the jut of his wrist.

His padawan, balm to his soul, be it tormented or simply distressed.

He quietly pressed a kiss to the top of Obi-Wan’s head and settled again.

Padme’s call last night had been hard, neither had yelled, despite both having reasons for it, maybe Padme more than him but Anakin was simply tired. And questioning what he had done at the start of the war.

Marrying her…

‘It was a pipe dream, wasn’t it.’ He thought wistfully, tilting his head to look up at the dark sky as the rain continued slamming down on them. A pipe dream to marry his angel and think he could keep her forever, a pipe dream to think he could also be a Jedi.

Just like freeing everyone from slavery would be a pipe dream.

That hurt.

He still wanted to free Tatooine but he wasn’t a little boy anymore, he knew more now, saw more… understood more.

As long as there were people who wanted power, they would subjugate others. And the galaxy had been creative in how to keep that power.

The scar of where his detonator was once implanted ached with phantom pain at the thought and he had to grit his teeth for a few moments and just breath through it.

‘Mom knew,’ He thought wistfully. ‘She knew it was just a pipe dream but indulged me. I was just a kid…’ Anakin rocked Obi-Wan slightly, feeling him squeeze his wrist again. Shmi had been smart, even if she had not been educated like a freeman would have been. She knew the expanse of the hutt empire.

She had seen the darkness of what slavery was and the shipping of power, weapons, drugs and bodies.

But she had been a good mother, indulged Anakin’s wishes, tried to foster hope… and when she had the chance to see him free, to see him of to something better, to rain and greenery… she hadn’t hesitated.

She wanted Anakin to be what their last name were.

Skywalker… it was a presumptuous last name for a slave, the implications of it…

Many slavers had watched them with narrowed eyes and slaves with both anger and hope.

‘But I did walk the sky, didn’t I… mother never made it, but I did. I flew through space, no shackle to my wrists or ankles and was free,’ Anakin smiled a tad more at that thought. ‘And I can teach others to walk the sky… and… maybe I can’t end slavery or free Tatooine… free mother… but I can free as many as possible and be better than I was.’

That was a good idea, a good feeling.

He hoped he could do it.

Anakin wanted to be better than he was before. Both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan made him better people… he had to be better for them.

Because just as Anakin had learned from Shmi Skywalker, they would learn from him.

‘…I have to be an example for them. I want to be a good example. Please Force, I want to be better for them.’ Anakin breathed deeply, letting out a soft noise of surprise as the rain abruptly ceased, a small ray of sun peeking through the clouds.

Symbolic?

Maybe… or just weather pattern.

Still, Obi-Wan’s little disappointed noise had him chuckling, squeezing his padawan tightly to his chest as he squirmed in protest.

-dangerousgalaxy is Cody and the others alright? And how do the galaxy at large take the news of the coop?

Coughing sharply as he pushed the desk of off himself, Cody glanced around the room with only one eye, cursing as he covered up the other. He could feel a warm leaking over half his face and he could only hope that his eye hadn’t fully ruptured but was just damaged and the heat was a mix of blood and the small fires around the room.

‘This is why we wear helmets cadets.’ He thought dryly, glancing up at the broken apart office above him, taking notice of the dust in the air, the smell of burning duracrete and the wind barely blowing in the opened window of the Chancellor office.

He’d been lucky when he noticed that that shit stain named Palpatine’s body had started to glow. If he hadn’t noticed, he would have been directly in the blast and instead he had managed to push the heavy and large desk over and hidden on the other side.

Thanks to that, the desk had absorbed the majority of the impact instead of Cody’s body, with what little else having been taken on by his armor.

The blast had taken out the walls though, collapsed the floor and Cody could barely see through the smoke that the ceiling on the office had also fallen in but Cody had survived, even if he was aching like hell from falling through the floor with the stupid Chancellor desk.

Turning towards the door, Cody let out a small curse as he took in the fact that the debris had clearly damaged the door.

He would need someone to clear the way to get out of the office, that or climb up… well, a jetpack could also work but he’d rather just have some of the troopers clear the way so the door could be opened honestly.

Jetting up the hole without precision could lead him to slamming into the roof and he had enough damage done to himself already, thank you.

Likely had a concussion too if he was right.

“Vod’alor!” A voice called out above him, Cody barely recognizing it as one of his vode even as he was sure the person was shouting and inwardly he cursed. So not only just eye damage but potentially also ear damage.

Just great.

Instead of sulking over it, he called back. “Down here, I’m injured but not critical.” He called back and watched as Waxer suddenly peered over the edge with wide eyes, bringing a comm unit up to talk into.

He couldn’t hear what the other was saying though, the man’s lips moving fast to read either and that just confirmed it for Cody. Ear damage for sure from his closeness to the blast.

Finally, Waxer spoke to him again and Cody sighed deeply. “Waxer, louder, I can barely hear you.” He called up, watching at the other’s eyes widened and he brought the comm back to his lips.

“I’m sorry sir, I was informing Helix about the damage,” His lieutenant finally called down as Cody peered up at him. “Team Delta is on its way to you, they’re gonna blow in the wall, it will be easier than getting to work on all… that.” He looked doubtfully at the rubble covering the doorway.

Looking to it, Cody had to agree and it wasn’t like they could do more damage to Cody than the original blast already had, as long as they used a small detonation on the wall. Still, he grunted and got to work on pushing the desk to the other wall, to get a barrier between himself and the coming blast.

He would rather keep the damage to himself minimum.

He also mourned his new cloak.

It was all in tatters now, tears and holes all over it from the blast and falling down and he fingered awkwardly with long strip of its remains, aware of Waxer keeping an eye on him as he settled himself behind the desk for now. It had been a gift from the rest of the 212th and despite how embarrassed it had made him initially… well, it had been nice, felt warm.

He’d been looking forward to showing it to Obi-Wan.

‘Maybe I could get a new one?’ He perked up slightly at the thought. Cody was Vod’alor after all, technically, he was the new ruler… kind of?

They had done a coup, taken over Coruscant but that didn’t mean that everyone would just accept thei- ‘And who is gonna argue?’ A dry tone of voice piped up in Cody’s head, not so unlike Obi-Wan when he was being sarcastic. ‘Against an army as big as the vode? All these soft core people and Senators think they’re big until you give them a black eye and show how powerless they are.’

Cody shifted a bit behind the desk, a tad uncomfortable with the thought.

But it wasn’t wrong.

They weren’t done either, they had initially cleared out the most pressing of the vermin, but now that left the rest of the Senate, the core planets, the mid-rims and the outer rims.

He already knew, thanks to Obi-Wan, that the outer rims governed themselves mostly, with little concern of what happened in the core, due to how little they came to the outer rims.

It was why slavery and illegal things thrived so well there, despite slavery being illegal in the core.

His lips pursed.

Thanks to Fox, he knew how many underground slavery rings there were on even Coruscant and how little true that really was.

‘But the vode are many. We could change things… first we mop up at ‘home’, we get our Jedi safe… and then we clean up the rest of the galaxy.’ He narrowed his eyes faintly, jumping in surprise as the wall suddenly paved in, a blast sounding into the room.

Shifting, Cody peeked over the edge of the desk and grunted in relief as white and orange stepped into the room, followed by white and blue.

Time to surrender himself to a medics tender hands… ugh.

Carefully, Cody got up and moved towards them, hand still covering his injured eye as he gave his men a grim smile. ‘I hope Obi-Wan is doing better than I am…’

Yikes, is Din on any kind of medication? Vitamins? With a stomach like that, you’re suppose to be taking multivitamines at least, cause your body is taking up less food, so there’s less of what you need like iron and calsium.

“Medication?” Din mumbled, shifting slightly on Boba’s couch, enough so he could look at the other. Earlier, Din had a dizzy spell and when he had almost fainted in full armor, Boba had sent everyone out of the throne room and pulled Din, Fennec and Paz to his office.

Fennec had stayed long enough to listen to Boba’s marching orders, assure herself that Din was fine and then she had set of with a harsh look in her eyes.

In the meantime, Boba had settled his arse in front of the terminal and Paz had simply settled on the couch and dragged Din down with him, carefully helping his dizzy covert member out of his armor, stacking the pile carefully on the caff table stationed in front of the L shaped sectional couch.

Then he had removed his own thigh armor.

Honestly, Din felt a bit stupid for not realizing what Paz was up to until his head was laying on the others lap, Paz slowly rubbing at his back and side with gloveless hands.

It had been tense at first, the sensation of being touched always feeling so startling but seconds after, he relaxed into it, the sensation of warm, comforting hands making him melt into the couch and Paz lap despite feeling a tad stupid wearing only his helmet.

He was actually drowsing when Boba spoke.

The King of Tatooine nodded slowly, frowning slightly at the terminal before looking at Din. “Technically, vitamins but yes, also medication. I noticed you have issues eating if something too spicy or greasy gets put in front of you. Acid reflux being common then but even on days you take it easy, you seem to have it a lot, right?” He raised his brows, corners of his mouth turned down in displeasure.

Din wanted to whine at the sight, he hated disappointing Boba and he knew the other was disappointed that Din hadn’t told him this himself. “I mean… yeah, I just… I didn’t want to be a-”

“If you call yourself a burden, I will literally bury you in sand,” Boba threatened with a small growl and Paz squeezed Din’s neck in slight warning, likely agreeing with Boba’s assessment. Then the man sighed deeply. “Din, we want to help you, but to help you, we need to know when something is wrong.” Boba stated more calmly.

Din knew the other two felt responsible for Din’s stomach issues, since they sat the bacta that severed his stomach to pieces.

But they had saved his life, he couldn’t see it that way, as blame.

But guilt never was logical, that much even Din could agree with.

So he sighed and nodded slowly. “Okay so… there are medications that help?” He stated a tad uncertainly, wondering why Boba had also mentioned vitamins. Was he suppose to take that too?

Jutting his head towards the terminal, Boba leaned back in his chair. “According to the holonet on those cosmetic places on the core elite, those that take gastric procedures for reasons often end up taking a drug called pantoprazol, which reduces the acids in their stomach. It helps you basically be able to eat mostly a normal diet.” He explained carefully.

Blinking, Din sat up at that. “A… normal?” He carefully but hopefully voiced. “Normal by core standards or…” Din licked his dry lips.

Tapping his fingers on the desk, Boba shrugged. “Not wholly sure here but what I can dig up seems to indicate that there are some pretty spicy meals you can eat while taking this drug. And that sometimes your body has to go through a first time dumping syndrome, whatever that is, for it to get used to certain dishes.” He glanced at the terminal screen, eyes flickering over the text before nodding, as if to confirm what he just said.

Din swallowed thickly at that, the idea of being able to eat tiingilar without feeling like crap making his mouth watering. “…Okay, where do we get that? The pantos thing?” Din rasped out, leaning into Paz hand when it came up to squeeze his shoulder.

Boba just waved his hand. “I’ll have it shipped in, get Russal to ensure its safe. But another thing is that you need vitamins Din,” Boba stared at him. “You fainted today and the blood sample I sent Russal says your anemic and you are in severe deficiency of several key vitamins. Its why you’re having dizzy spells and today you almost fainted. I imagine you’re having other symptoms of those vitamin deficiency that you just haven’t told us.” He growled slightly.

Din hunched in before turning and hiding in Paz, letting out a small, unhappy whine when he heard Boba sigh loudly. “You’ll be going onto both the pantoprazol and the vitamins as soon as we get it Din, this isn’t punishment but please, we can’t stand to see you like this.” Boba’s voice was gentle but Din still felt the need to hide as he clenched his burning eyes shut.

“It will be alright verd’ika. We’ll help you. You just have to let us help…” Paz murmured, his arms wrapped tightly around Din’s body. “Just… please let us help Din.” He tacked on, even through the modulator his voice sounded a tad desperate.

Din wished he could take of his helmet, press his face to Paz chest or neck and just disappear for a bit.

Still, he nodded, the metal scraping against each other, not wanting to disappoint his friends.

Verd’ika = Little soldier

In Fertile War, I’m really intrigued about how Obi-wan will deal with knowing it’s likely because he’s Stewjoni and not for himself that the clones are so fascinated with him. For someone that has never really been chosen first, that must be a hard blow. Can we see more about how Obi-wan reacts to that, and if the clones respond in anyway?

Pausing as there was a click, Obi-Wan lifted his head to see a steaming, half-full cup and a plate of food beside his elbow and quickly, he looked up at Commander Cody with surprise. “Commander?” He murmured.

The other smiled slightly at him, the familiar sense of hunger that often left Obi-Wan feeling discontent due to it being a stupid genetic thing still there but… overshadowed by other feelings.

Concern, fondness and a low level irritation.

“I know we have to finish up our reports sir, but you need to eat too,” The commander stated quietly, quickly raising his hand when Obi-Wan opened his mouth. “Please sir, the troopers would feel… better if you ate at least a little. We know Jedi can keep themselves going on the Force,” There was a twitch in his face, as if the man wanted to call bullshit and Obi-Wan had to admire that restraint. “But a small break for some food won’t be amiss… and the tea is caffeinated, to keep you awake.” He tacked on.

Obi-Wan paused at that, glancing longingly to the tea and almost letting out a whine of surprise when he took in what tea.

Krayt bean tea, it was massively stimulating and only to be consumed in small measures, only a cup a day to prevent a caffeine overdose. Anakin had gotten him damn addicted to the stuff, it had been the sole reason Obi-Wan had powered through studying for three exams and taking one in one day by drinking four cups.

He may also have tried to rub Yoda’s head while seemingly vibrating into a fourth dimension and supposedly he also repeated everything Yoda or Mace Windu said.

Oh and he also may have stripped naked and streaked into the Archives but that was tactfully not brought up too often by those who witnessed it.

Unless it was Anakin.

Anakin liked to hold it over his head and to playfully poke him in the ribs or rest his arms on top of Obi-Wan’s head while cheerfully reminding him of it.

Carefully, Obi-Wan pulled it towards him and looked up at Cody with wide eyes. “How did you…” Krayt bean tea was a very particular tea and very niche. You either enjoyed it or you hated it, no in between and due to so few enjoying it, most vendors didn’t carry it even among those that sold tea.

Cody smiled a tad sheepishly at that, rubbing at his temple scar. “I… well, apologies sir, but I may have been eavesdropping a tad on you and General Skywalker sir. You mentioned that this tea aided you when you were tired and Boil managed to get his hands on it during that scouting mission you sent him and his group out on.” Cody explained carefully, straightening in parade pose.

Clearly he expected to be reprimanded for the eavesdropping.

Technically Obi-Wan should, listening in on a superiors private conversation wasn’t polite or really legal.

But…

It brought a warmth to Obi-Wan’s chest, to know that Cody had listened and cared.

You didn’t have to care about someone to want to fuck them after all and this didn’t seem like a nice guy act. Obi-Wan had nice ‘guy’ acts from people expecting him to get down and dirty with them if they were nice to him.

This didn’t feel like it.

A glance to the tray had the warmth in his chest growing as he took in that not only had Cody taken in the information of the tea, he had also taken in Obi-Wan’s food preferences. An apple and cinnamon muffin, obviously from a rehydrated pack but still nice, a pear that looked slightly firm, just as he liked them, a cup of nuts, a slice of cheese and some ham.

Things Obi-Wan enjoyed, either because they were filling, had textures he enjoyed or as just a treat.

‘…This really doesn’t feel like just…’ Obi-Wan licked his lips, feeling a spike in the hungry feeling before Cody quickly pushed it back and Obi-Wan couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to at least Cody and maybe the rest of the 212th desires than just genetics.

Looking up at the other, Obi-Wan smiled, watching how Cody’s shoulder seemed to relax a tad, even as he kept his position. “Thank you Commander, this is really… you’re right. I should eat, set a good example.” He murmured.

Cody seemed to breath out in relief through his nose, but he said nothing, simply saluted and sat down on the other side of the desk. He got to work on the paperwork he had abandoned earlier to fetch Obi-Wan a meal.

Glancing at the selection of food, Obi-Wan blew on the tea and took a small sip, letting the fragrant tea slip over his tongue, leaving behind the familiar almost numbing sensation that turned into heat after a few seconds.

‘…Maybe its not just genetic,’ He wondered hopefully, biting at his bottom lip before reaching for the cup of nuts and the cheese. ‘Maybe… maybe there could be true emotions mixed in?’ Obi-Wan glanced at his commander, watching Cody diligently read over the pad, lips pursed thoughtfully.

Would it be so bad if he fell for someone that was already at least attracted to him?

Relationships were built with time.

‘So what if others are also attracted to me, its… its different when they actually care. And Jango Fett was one handsome devil, his clones were lucky with that for sure. Tack on a personality like Cody combined with actual care…’ Obi-Wan squirmed a tad in his seat, feeling a new heat low in his stomach.

A heat he wasn’t unfamiliar with but it had been a long time since he felt it last time.

‘Oh dear… oh dear, we have to keep this from Anakin for sure. I don’t need him hovering.’ Shyly ducking his head, Obi-Wan concentrated on eating, missing Cody glancing at him.

Missing how the man traced him with his eyes, how he focused on the slight flush of Obi-Wan’s cheeks and how he drew a deep, silent breath and forced himself to sit still.

#dangerousgalaxy- what happens now that Palpatine is dead? How many other senators are dead? Do the clones send out a broadcast?

A shiver races down his spine and slowly, Obi-Wan places his cup down on the saucer, turning his head to meet Anakin’s eyes.

He and Ahsoka had been working on a puzzle set that Obi-Wan owned, just something meaningless but time consuming to preoccupy their time and since Ahsoka had sprained her left ankle, this was one of the better options.

Ahsoka too had paused, but kept her head down, lekkus twitching wildly.

Then all three had felt that, the cold tremble in the Force, as if something huge had happened.

Obi-Wan knew that Mace had already secluded himself into a Force muffled room due to the shatterpoints about to break but he had a feeling, with the way the Force had seemed to shake violently, that the poor man likely had a nosebleed by now.

None of them said anything though, Ahsoka placing a piece of the five thousand piece puzzle firmly into its place and then looking up at Anakin. “Your turn.” She stated quietly.

Clearly forcing himself back to the puzzle piece, Anakin eyed the pieces and found one to slot into place too, taking deep breaths.

Anakin had always been susceptible to the changes in the Force, being a son of it, so this had to be effecting him on a primal level Obi-Wan knew.

Least he was older now, the last time it happened had been when they went into that damn Sith temple and got separated. By the time Obi-Wan found his padawan again, the boy had a severe seizure and had bitten the inside of his own mouth, foaming with blood due to it.

Standing slowly, leaving his cup behind, Obi-Wan made his way to the door. “Obi-Wan.”

He paused at Anakin’s voice, turning around to peer at his former padawan as the blond stared at him. “…I’m not leaving the temple.” Obi-Wan murmured, watching both Ahsoka and Anakin purse their lips and exchange looks.

“…Alright. But we’ll both be cross if you leave the temple.” Anakin settled on, the two watching Obi-Wan pull on his boots but not his robe.

He gave them a small wave and then made his way outside to the empty halls.

Most Jedi had isolated themselves, knowing what was going on the moment the barrier had gone up around the temple.

Instantly, all shutters and doors had been closed, the shielding around the creche had become active and the creche masters had started the kids in on activities to keep them occupied, keep them as oblivious as possible to the coup. All masters were also keeping their padawans contained and active too, to keep their minds of what was going outside.

The padawans however were very aware of what was going on.

He knew that the temple guards had caught a few of them trying to leave, to help their troopers.

Making his way into the elevator, Obi-Wan breathed out heavily.

He understood the desire to help, he really did, he wanted to run to Cody’s side and make sure the other was alright, but…

The Jedi couldn’t.

If they involved themselves…

There was no saying what the end result would be and Jedi didn’t want power over the systems, regardless what some thought.

All they wanted was peace and justice and for people to damn well leave them alone.

Obi-Wan had to fight off a shiver of phantom hands on him and he took a sharp breath through his nose that he let out of his breath, forcing himself calm.

‘I’m just going to the stairs. I’m going to go to the stairs and wave in Ponds.’ Obi-Wan reminded himself sternly. He kept repeating it the entire way, waving to the temple guards at the door and feeling them keep an eye on him as he stepped out onto the staircase of the temple.

But there he stopped.

Technically, he hadn’t left the temple, not yet, keeping his promise to both Anakin and Ahsoka and also not alarming the guards.

He knew they would stop him if he really attempted to leave but he could feel their relief that he stopped on the top of the stairs.

Eyeing the area, feeling his the breeze ruffling his hair and smelling the under currant of smoke on the air, Obi-Wan waved as he spotted Ponds, the commander waving back and turning to one of the troopers beside him. Then he made his way to the stairs and started walking up, moving quickly.

It still took him a good five minutes, the stairs of the Jedi temple were big after all on all sides. Finally he reached Obi-Wan and saluted him. “General Kenobi, is there something wrong?” He questioned seriously.

As if neither of them could see the plumes of fire rising from not only the Rotunda but also several places of the Senatorial district.

But Obi-Wan simply shook his head. “No, not precisely. I was just… I wanted to ask how things were going… is… is Cody alright?” He questioned softly. He was very aware that Cody was the leader of this entire operation, was the Vod’alor, the brother’s chancellor.

He hadn’t been sure what to think about it when he found it out but it wasn’t up to him regardless… but it did give him hope, learning that Cody was in charge, after everything he and the others had done to keep the Jedi safe, Obi-Wan knew that Cody would keep them safe from such abuse.

After that shake of the Force though, Obi-Wan was worried.

Which left him standing on the top of the stairs, wrapping his own arms around himself as the slight chill of the breeze penetrated his tunic.

Ponds tilted his head before pulling of his bucket, giving Obi-Wan a sympathetic look. “Commander Cody is fine, they just finished up at the Rotunda and things should be under control soon.” He admitted softly, as if a full takeover of a government was common place.

It left Obi-Wan with true relief though and he smiled warmly at Ponds. “That’s good to know, I know a lot of Jedi are getting restless and I know Mace would like to see you so-” Obi-Wan paused as the Force suddenly gave a shrill cry.

The planet seemed to rock for a moment as the Rotunda east side suddenly blew out, the sound reaching all the way to the Jedi temple with ease as smoke and debris exploded out, much to Ponds and Obi-Wan’s shock.

Behind him, Obi-Wan could feel the guards step out too, equally shocked. “W-Was that suppose to happen?” Obi-Wan rasped out with wide eyes.

Ponds silently shook his head, staring too with equally wide eyes before he started barking commands to his men, the sentinels gently grasping Obi-Wan by the elbows to pull him inside.

All the meantime, black smoke swirled to the sky from the open hole of the Rotunda.

If you’re up for it, I would love to read more of deaged and time traveling Boba, Din and Grogu! What exactly do they tell Jango?

Peering curiously at the little child as he feed it, Jango tilted his head as he cooed happily. “You know, I’m not sure this is what you’re suppose to be eating little one.” He stated in a tad of bemusement, still feeding him little bits of leftover tiingilar carefully.

The little one had come stumbling out of Boba’s bedroom about an hour after the two older had left, rubbing his eyes while looking around with a wide eyed look that Jango easily identified as hungry, even on an alien child.

Years of having Boba had accustomed Jango to looks like that.

Leaving a child hungry wasn’t in Jango’s nature, even as his mind hissed at him about the clones, and therefore he had carefully picked Grogu up and settled him on the couch, promising him food.

That had gotten the little one to keep sitting, cooing hopefully, large eyes following him as adorable ears twitched in hope.

Unfortunately, Jango had yet to stock up properly, he only had a few things and most of it required prep or defrostnig.

Not ideal when a child was already hungry.

Which left Jango feeding a child the spicy leftovers.

He had thought that the child might pitch a fit but…

‘Does he have an iron mouth or something?’ He wondered in bemusement, carefully dabbing Grogu’s chin as a bit of stew leaked. “Guess you like spice huh, does the other one too? Would make feeding you both easier.” Jango stated, smiling wryly.

For all the kid was like the Jedi grandmaster in looks, it was… difficult not to find him adorable. “I’m guessing I’m gonna have to find some nappies for you.” He paused, frowning slightly, chuckling when Grogu left out a grumpy noise.

He quickly fed him another spoonful, only for both to pause as the door opened, Boba leading Din inside. Boba had been quick to introduce the other boy to Jango, before going to bed last night, Jango deciding to wait for Boba to tell him what the kark was going on.

He trusted his son, despite the personality changes, because no one clung as desperately to someone as Boba had done without loving them.

There was something going on and Jango was going to find out and he just knew, just knew deep in his gut, that he would not like it.

The younger but taller boy was still tugging at his hood, looking nervously at Jango with those big, brown eyes of his, as if he wasn’t used to looking others in the face or having his own face exposed.

Boba instead looked grouchy, his lips pursed in what the boy likely thought was a scowl but came of as a pout. It made Jango have to fight against his own laughter.

“Is that tiingilar buir?” Boba suddenly asked, staring at the two as he and Din paused.

Jango shrugged, glancing down at Grogu, who still held his mouth open like a baby bird, waiting for more. “Was the only thing I had that didn’t need prep. Thought he might pitch a fit at the spice but…” He shrugged, smiling helplessly.

“Are you really surprised?” Din spoke up, voice soft and lisping faintly. Jango had already identified the accent, Aq Vetina, a planet on the outer area of the Mandalorian sector. It was colonized by farmers as far as he knew and that again made Din even more impossible. “He eats frogs.” The boy pointed out.

Boba let out a thoughtful noise at that before sighing and nodding, pulling Din towards the couch. “…Wait, what?” Jango blinked then looked down at Grogu, the ik’aad blinking back at him and demanding opening his mouth. Obediently, Jango fed him another spoon from the bowl.

“I didn’t let him!” Din stated defensively, more animated than Jango had seen him, his lips twisting unhappily. “He jumped on it and swallowed it before I could stop it.”

Jango looked back up, even more surprised. “…He ate it whole?” He rasped, watching as Boba pushed Din to sit down on the couch beside Grogu, the boy quickly stroking the big ears of the baby.

Din grimaced but nodded but before he could say more, Boba spoke up. “Is there more tiingilar?” He questioned brusquely, quelling slightly under Jango’s raised brow, jutting his chin out even as his cheeks pinkened. “Please?”

Scraping the bowl and feeding Grogu the last bit, Jango nodded. “Yes, in the container in the fridge. Its from yesterdays dinner.” And Jango always made more than enough tiingilar, to be able to eat the leftovers.

Boba nodded in satisfaction, grinning happily before turning to Din and raising one little finger at him. “You’re tiny and you’re way too skinny. You’re gonna eat a whole bowl, or so help me, I will…” He paused, looking at his own hand, Din echoing the move.

Then Din grinned, giggling slightly. “I don’t think that’s gonna work out so well.” He stated a tad cheekily, not tugging at his hood as he grinned almost mischievously at Boba.

Boba gave him a peevish look in return, glared at his own hand for a minute while flexing his fingers, then huffed slightly as Grogu gave a giggle too and clapped little claws together in response to Din’s joy, Jango watching them in confusion.

“You’re still eating a whole bowl.” Boba grumbled, making his way to the kitchen, staring up at the cupboards as if they had betrayed him before pulling his stepping ladder over to reach the dishes. Jango would offer him help, but frankly, watching Boba look as if the cupboards had personally insulted him and his entire family line and his armor was something he’d cherish if he was honest.

“He’s upset he’s short.” The soft, lisping voice attracted his attention, Jango turning his attention to Din to see him grinning widely, his arms wrapped around little Grogu now as the adiik had crawled into his lap and snuggled up.

Clearly the baby was full and therefore content.

Jango had to repress the urge to say ‘but he’s always been like this’ and instead raised a brow at the kid in front of him, smiling slightly. Din was clearly an anxious sort and he’d rather not frighten the boy when he was slowly getting used to Jango.

It was clear that Boba was not going to leave Din anywhere.

All of these little clues however was drawing Jango towards a suspicion.

An impossible, improbable and incredulous suspicion.

Yet…

These new children and the changes in Boba…

‘Wait and see, do not act without proper information Jango, or you can walk yourself into a trap.’ Jaster’s low voice spoke up in the recesses of his mind and therefore Jango settled, smiling wryly at Din.

ik’aad = Baby, under 3. Jango doesn’t know how old he is though lol

tiingilar = Spicy traditional mandalorian stew

adiik = children

buir = parent

Major stars- How does Obi-Wan handle hearing that Anakin knows? Is anyone else going to figure it out? Anakin isn’t really the best at keeping secrets…

His son knew him.

That was a… novel thought.

Even more novel was the sensation of having his son in his lap, his good arm wrapped around Anakin as the kid quietly read his homework. Occasionally, he’d stop and ask for Obi-Wan’s help for either words he didn’t understand or concepts that went a bit above his head.

The task of ones master really.

Yet, by the fond, soft look Qui-Gon was sporting as he watched the two interact as the man himself was tending to his plants, Qui-Gon didn’t mind that Anakin had gone to Obi-Wan for the help.

It was enough to make Obi-Wan smile shyly back at the man, watching Qui-Gon carefully clip his Kashyyyk climbing flowering vine into a manageable lengths, to prevent it from spreading out of its pot.

On the floor, Qui-Gon’s bright pink watering can, the flower nutrients pellets and a bin for the plant waste was stationed, in easy reach for the tall man to use on his hobby.

It was domestic and Obi-Wan couldn’t say he didn’t like it.

When Qui-Gon had told him, Obi-Wan hadn’t been sure what to feel.

A tad panicked, the sensation of fear and hope building so fast it made Obi-Wan dizzy.

The fact that Anakin had known for so long and yet not said anything did put some of Obi-Wan’s fear to the side though, the worry that someone would learn that Anakin knew and would inform the council, that Anakin would be reassigned by the council of reassignment.

Their son himself had put the other worries to rest.

Obi-Wan had worried Anakin would think they had abandoned him, had thought the boy might resent them a tad.

He hadn’t.

He still curled into Obi-Wan with eagerness, pressing his nose to Obi-Wan’s tunic, hugging him as tightly as he dared with Obi-Wan injured from his mission. No, Anakin loved them with all his heart.

Still, some fears remained.

He wanted Anakin to become a good knight, well, as long as that was what Anakin wanted. If their son wanted to join one of the corps or even leave, then Obi-Wan would support him. But those options were easier, Anakin had the skills to become quite the pilot, mechanic or any number of things.

But to become a Jedi knight, a certain… demeanor was required.

Obi-Wan worried the wouldn’t be able to teach Anakin that, that the love they had for their boy would lead to attachment.

Would lead to Anakin developing his own attachment.

Jedi were to love, to be compassionate… but love and attachment were different things.

To love with all their heart and yet to be able to let go, grieve but don’t let death or loss destroy you or your rage control you due to said love.

There were the healthy kind of love and the unhealthy kind and overwhelming emotions were not good for a Jedi. It could lead to a darker path, to the dark side whispering in your ear.

It could lead you to taking the wrong choice.

‘But we have to do our best, don’t we? We love our boy… and… and I don’t know if I’m strong enough now to walk away. I don’t think I’m strong enough to let him go either…’ Obi-Wan mulled over that.

He was worried, Obi-Wan didn’t want his love to turn selfish and problematic.

The only thing he wanted was for Anakin to become the best person he could be, to be happy with who he was, regardless what path he chose.

Pressing a soft kiss to the crown of Anakin’s head, he smiled a tad shakily as their boy made a happy noise and burrowed into Obi-Wan, ignoring Qui-Gon’s now slightly worried glance at him.

All Obi-Wan could do, was to be as good as possible, to make the decisions that seemed right and believe in the Force.

That was all he could do.

Docile doll, rex, cody and obi wan reunited?

Weeks of careful planning is a must, weeks of gathering intel, of resources poured into one missions, calling in favors, getting a ship that can bypass the Empire’s security, getting a basic trooper outfit, unpainted, getting falsified papers…

But they’re ready.

They’re going to do this for Obi-Wan’s sake.

To set Obi-Wan’s mind at peace, because Obi-Wan’s wide eyes is something the troopers are all too used to seeing when Vader marches in on a place that has rumored to have held Obi-Wan with Cody at his sake.

For him, they are getting Cody out.

Its not that they don’t want to, of course not, if they could, the would get all their brothers out of the hell that is the chips…

But they don’t have the resources for all of them, they can’t bring them all out, as much as they desperately wants to. To save every last one of their brothers from the Empire and the snake at the top, leading everything.

However, they can’t.

They don’t have the resources for it, they don’t have the space and they don’t have the manpower to do it.

They do bring some vod out of it, when they can, a squad they come over, knocking them out and taking them to the medbay of their ships, getting them dechipped and rescued. But not as many as they wished they could.

Cody however is bait and they all know it, he’s bait for Obi-Wan.

They had all known that from the moment they had seen the blank eyed Commander, their vod, marching beside Vader, as if he didn’t have morals anymore.

Cody had always had strong morals, had them from the moment he was decanted on Kamino and under General Kenobi, they had only been fortified as he learned and saw more of the world and of the Jedi behavior.

Cody was a man of honor, morals and justice.

The blank eyed man was not Cody.

Couldn’t be Cody.

But he would be Cody again.

That was why Rex was on Coruscant, dressed in the white of a shiny from salvaged armor, following the commander silently.

Around him, others from Homebase were following equally silent, all of them grim but determined.

The plan was simple.

Follow Cody until he was alone, hypo him, keep him in place until he was out, deprive him of armor in case of trackers and bring him to the ship they had bartered from a smuggler with the falsified papers.

Then they ran.

Cody was making it hard though, most of the day he had been with Vader, making it impossible to approach him and Rex honestly worried that if he got too close, Vader would feel that it was him.

It was one of those things, when Vader had been General Skywalker, had always been nice, that the man always knew who his troopers were and called them by name.

Now it was a nuisance.

Dangerous.

So they had to use distance.

Only Lamb could approach without worry as Lamb was not part of the 212th or the 501st, he had been a shiny from 612th and therefore Vader had never meet him. So he had been set on trail duty for most of the day, keeping the other appraised through their private and protected comms.

They did have one scare, when one of Tarkin’s lackeys had tried to send them of to the other side of Coruscant but had managed to get out of it. By sending another team of troopers unfortunately, they didn’t like taking advantage of their own, mindwashed brothers but they didn’t have much choice.

They had to get Cody and they had to get him soon.

‘Hold on Obi-Wan… soon Cody will be home with us… just don’t do anything stupid.’ Rex bit his lips, eyes on the back of his black armored brother, wondering how many Jedi the other had murdered in his state.

Under Vader’s orders.

‘Force, I don’t ask for much, but please let it be zero.’ Rex swallowed.

In AWOL Jedi, what’s going on with Fox and the Guard? Are they staying permanently or just waiting until things settle down before they nope on out of there?

Breathing out a sigh of contentment as he stared up into the blue sky, Cody couldn’t think of any place he’d want to be at that moment.

Laying shirtless on the grass in the sun, his arms tucked beneath his head as the warmth of the climate washed over him. It was the 212th week off from work, to rest and decompress from building and rotating another battalion over onto their work.

Around him, others had taken the same opportunity for some sunbathing, most troopers enjoying sprawling in the sun due to the lack of it on Kamino.

Kamino was generally always wet and cold, the sun only occasionally peeking out from the stormy sky and to be able to enjoy it on Vercopa.

Well, at least on the southern hemisphere, where the temple and their capital city was built.

The northern part was colder and so was the eastern, while west apparently had desert climate.

Cody had only been to the east and south, so he could only rely on the reports from the other towns about how it was there.

To be honest, Cody preferred staying in the south, near the Jedi temple.

Near Obi-Wan.

Talking about Obi-Wan…

Cody lifted his head a tad, looking around, relaxing when he found the Jedi sitting under in the shade of a tree with Helix, reading a novel.

They had, gently, bullied their Jedi to put on sunscreen and join them in their little trip out of the city to a grassy area, though it hadn’t really taken much coaxing to convince Obi-Wan to join them for the break. And Helix enjoyed keeping an eye on their Jedi, especially after the Coruscant visit, since Obi-Wan contracted some lung strain due to his weakened immune system.

All in all, it was a very nice sight.

“Fox is pissy.” A warm voice came from his left, Cody dropping his head back into his head to look, smirking at Rex as the man came over to sit down.

Apparently it was the 501st week break too, if Rex was here instead of working on the vegetable patches they had been assigned this month. “Oh?” Cody raised a brow, quietly wondering what the 501st month task would be.

He knew the 212th were going to be working on the hot spring that was going to be set up near the Jedi temple.

Actually, maybe the 501st would be working on the other hot spring in the city?

He knew there were plants for two.

Humming, fiddling with some grass, Rex nodded. “He’s so done dealing with the Senate. The longnecks apparently tried to get us back as ‘products’,” Rex snorted. “Until Organa pointed out that the vode were put under the purview of the Jedi by the Senate and therefore they had the right to remove us from Kamino.” He smirked at Cody.

Cody grimaced a tad, grateful for Organa’s intervention but the reminder that to many, they were simply ‘products’… well, it was never a comforting sensation.

“I think he’s jealous that he can’t just leave Coruscant.” He laughed.

Snorting, Cody could understand that, having to deal with all the Senate assholes and those that were against clones.

The Jedi had sent in a warning that the troopers would be leaving Coruscant to the Senate though, they had two months to find replacements for the guards. After all, the clones were under the Order’s purview, given to the Order by the very Senate.

It was delightful how that decision had come back to bite not only the Senate but also the longnecks in the arse.

Fair to Fox, having to stay there with those fatcats would be annoying, particularly the arrogant would be difficult, so Fox’s mood was understandable. “Can’t say I don’t get it, I’d be pissy too if it was me,” He smirked at the man, watching Rex lay down beside him on the grass. “…Where is Skywalker?” Cody couldn’t help but ask.

Ever since he had joined them, Rex rarely let Anakin out of his sight.

“Wanted to spend some quality time with Ahsoka and the twins,” Rex shrugged. “…Jesse is keeping an eye with them.” He admitted, smirking slightly at Cody’s raised brow.

Snorting, Cody nodded with understanding.

No trooper liked leaving their Jedi fully alone, there was always someone from the old GAR battalion with them, be it the commanders, a medic or one of the higher ranking troopers.

Always someone keeping an eye on them.

Especially the younglings or the ones that found trouble the most.

Anakin, and by extension his kids, were counted in the latter.

Turning his face back up to the sun, Cody let out a small hum as Rex settled to enjoy the sun with him, a soft breeze sweeping over them. ‘…I could never have imagined this in my training days as a cadet… and now I’m here… laying in the warm sun, my vode all around me and my Jedi comfortably reading under a tree…’ He couldn’t help but smile.

How strange life could be.

How… peaceful.
