I love all of your work. Just being curious here are you going to do anything with Dooku in the and then there were none story? I belive you had him surrender. Would the Jedi keep him away from clone guards cause of what they know about the clones and the threat Dooku represents?

Opening
his eyes slowly, Yan peered at the clone standing in front of his
cell door before slowly looking towards the camera with a long stare.
Ah, it was off, the light was no longer flickering.

And
there was a clone in front of his cell.

This
was…

A
precarious situation he had to admit considering the Jedi had slapped
on Force suppressants on him.

He
returned his eyes to the clone, eyeing the colors of his armor
closely before finally settling his back more firmly against the wall
for some kind of faint sensation of protection despite it being in
vein. “You’re the commander of the 212th.
He drawled.

The
trooper pulled his helmet on, peering at Yan for a long few moments
before he nodded swiftly, lips pursed. “Yes. I’m marshal
commander Cody, second in hand to General Kenobi.” He continued
staring at Yan.

He
hadn’t opened the cell yet though…

Yan
raised a brow slowly, sensing an opening, some way of surviving
through this encounter. “And what can I do for you commander?” He
drawled.

“You
can tell me where to get evidence of Sheev Palpatine’s betrayal of
the Republic.” The clone said firmly, eyes narrowed and Yan felt
his brows hit his hairline in surprise. The troopers knew?

Well
of course they knew or Sidious wouldn’t have died as he did along
with the death and capture of the rest of the Sith but still, did
they know how deep the betrayal went?

The
trooper leaned a bit forward. “If you give me the information I
want, I’ll put in a good word with my vode. Because believe me,
there’s more than just my troopers who want revenge for what you
have caused our General’s. But we can be merciful if you can give
us what we want.”

Yan
tilted his head.

He
contemplated it. “…What would it gain me to give you what you
want?” He questioned slowly.

“Your
life, your health the rest of your life. Maybe an upgrade in your
dreary cell.” Cody tilted his head. “Because believe me, we can
pull some strings if we want to now. You won’t get the suppressors
off, but I imagine you could do with some more comforts in your
cell.” He bit out.

Yan
stared at this clone before he slowly dipped his head. “I see…
very well than. You should
contact Cad Bane, he will know where to look for the information you
request as he has access to my Serenno home since the last time he
worked for me.” Yan murmured stiffly even as he relaxed in relief.

He
wasn’t going to karking die today.

The
scarred clones brow rose but he nodded. “Alright… Bane has
offered to work for us pro bono.” He mused.

‘I
bet. Anyone with half a brain cell wants to be on the troopers good
side now.’ Yan thought dryly to himself. He didn’t say that
though and instead nodded slowly. “Tell him the code to the
terminal he needs is Kenobi’s birthday with the secondary password
being Qui-Gon Jinn’s birthday.”

When
the trooper stared at him in surprise, Yan just sniffed. “Think
what you want, but they are my linage. I never tried to kill Obi-Wan
outright, only to turn him to my side.” He said calmly.

The
clone’s face grew stormy at that but he nodded and put on his
helmet again, nodding to his ‘brothers’ before he marched away.

Yan
counted to ten in his head before breathing out in relief as the
camera’s light lit up, able to see that through the ray door of his
cell.

Thank
the Force for small mercies.

Do you have anything more with protective clones in Andthentherewerenone with the wolfpack?

“Did
you know that technically cannibalism is not illegal, only
desecration of a corpse is? At
least according to these old laws that the Senate never seem to have
dropped.” Obi-Wan offered
ever so lightly, as if he was talking about the weather while
reading an article from his pad since that and drinking was the only
thing he was currently allowed.

“Hmm,
I did not know that but that’s strangely fascinating Obi-Wan.”
Plo responded while staring at the ceiling. “I’d come over there
to read myself with you but as you are aware of, that is physically
an impossibility at this moment.” The kel dor gestured to the
fuming commander sitting on his lap.

Woffle
gave his General a long look. “This wouldn’t be happening if you
listened to Bantha and took it easy General as you well know as I
warned you prior to you and General Kenobi attempted to spar.” He
said severely. “And when I
need to move, Sinker is taking my place to make sure you’re taking
it easy.”

Plo
hummed in response, giving the man a fond look before reaching out
and gently rubbing his clawed hand over the short buzz of the clones
hair. “Of course Woffle, I just assumed you’d give me more of a
warning frankly before you
dropped yourself into my lap.”
He chuckled, more amused than
annoyed at his troopers protectiveness.

Obi-Wan
hummed a bit as he continued reading through the more obscure
Republic laws, some of them outright confusing and some of them just
laughable to a point where he wondered why they hadn’t just been
dropped.

On his
lap Cody sat, sending orders via the portable terminal and refreshing
order forms for various requirements as he did while the others
mingled around them doing their duty.

It was
a strange day in the Order’s life when people could just sit down
in Jedi’s laps to keep them from straining themselves. Obi-Wan had
argued that they were on light duty despite having picked up a bad
case of respiratory
malady
that was happily none contagious and they were still suppose to be
doing relief efforts for the locals, helping them build, getting them
supplies but Cody hadn’t taken any of that shavit and neither had
Woffle, especially when the two Jedi had wanted to spar.

Nope.

They
had firmly
sat down in each Jedi’s lap and
therefor physically restraining them from doing anything but drink,
eat and do whatever they could on their pads that were provided by
their troopers though Obi-Wan suspected if he asked for someone to
play a game with him, they would allow that too.

Still
it was a strange situation.

Though…
not unpleasant Obi-Wan admitted to himself while glancing at Cody who
seemed quite comfortable on his lap. As if
feeling the gaze, Cody shifted a bit to look at him, quirking his
lips in none verbal question.

Flustering
a bit, Obi-Wan looked away, clearing his throat a bit. He flustered
even more to a point where his ears were burning when Cody briefly
but pointedly squeezed his knee with a hand.

‘Okay,
we’re taking this step by step… so… oh boy this is going to be
awkward to come around, figure out how to ask him to…’ He thought
to himself even as Obi-Wan slowly shifted enough to lean against Cody
deliberately, sharing the other mans heat and smelling his skin and
soap.

It was
a pleasant, musky scent that sent Obi-Wan’s stomach tingling and he
peered at the other again before focusing back on his pad, feeling
the large smile on Cody’s face as much as seeing it.

In andthentherewerenone how is Mace handling his own (maybe romantic?) attachment to ponds and the rest of his clones? It’s a big change for him but I feel like the Jedi would be just as possessive as the clones are

“You’ve been very quiet Obi-Wan, are you alright?” Depa’s
voice broke through Obi-Wan’s contemplation, the redhead shaking
his head and looking up in surprise before flustering a bit as the
entire council was watching him.

“Apologies, I was thinking.” He sat up, rubbing his beard.

“Clearly.” Mace smirked at him, elbow on his armchair and head on
his hand. “What about?”

“My last mission. The way my Commander physically picked me up and
carried me away from the treaties because he didn’t think the
people were treating me respectfully but as a piece of meat.”
Obi-Wan hummed. “I had the feeling that Cody wanted…” He
hesitated.

It was Mace who finished the sentence. “More?” He rumbled, face
serious.

Peering at his friend, Obi-Wan gave a small nod as Anakin frowned at
his knees.

“Yes, I’ve had that feeling from Ponds too a few times.” Mace
rubbed his chin with Depa and Adi announcing that their own
commanders had also felt of it at times.

Sitting up in his chair, Anakin rubbed the back of his neck. “What
are you going to do about it?” He blinked. He really had no space
to talk about attachment and love considering he was married to
Senator Amidala but he was clearly curious.

Normally it was at this point the traditionalists would speak up but…

After all that had happened, they had all agreed that reforms were
needed.

“I get the feeling off Ponds that he won’t be overstepping his
boundaries, that the interest is there but he won’t do anything
untoward or even approach me unless I give a sign first.” Mace
finally rumbled while rubbing his chin.

Depa chimed in the same about Commander Grey.

“They’re affectionate though.” Obi-Wan murmured, looking away
from everyone else by staring up at the ceiling. “So I question…
where we go from here. I know that they are possessive, they are
protective of us but possessive love is not for us, its dangerous
with our Force abilities. But…” He hesitated and then finally
looked at the rest of the council. “Does that now bar us from all
love? Are our reforms going to effect the state of our affairs? We
already know that there are many Jedi who are involved, even some on
the council has gone as far as marriage, so where does that leave
us?”

The Jedi mulled thoughtfully over it.

It was Mace once again who broke the silence. “I… would like to
see how things evolve. I’m fond of Ponds, I willingly admit it and
if there are anyone in this galaxy who understand duty and sacrifice,
it is our clone companions.” He rumbled.

That said, everyone covertly glanced at Yoda, who was sitting on his
chair with his eyes closed, ears twitching.

Feeling the weight of the gazes, Yoda opened his eyes to peer back.
“…Stay out of this I shall. Long I have lived, change we need and
only here to advice I am. But this, the young must decide.” He
settled on before sighing heavily, ears dropping. “The truth
Qui-Gon Jinn once spoke to me, stagnated the Order has become… my
fault much of it is.” He stared at his gimer stick for a long
moment.

There were long glances traded around. “Than… what we settle on
is that we will, try?” Obi-Wan questioned confusedly.

“Is there anything else left? We’re all fumbling our way through
this… at least the healers have made progress in slowing down their
aging process.” Adi murmured softly.

Anakin perked up at that, nodding eagerly. “Rex was really happy to
hear that, he says he’d like not to grow old bones before he’s
thirty if possible.” He laughed.

There was a scattering of soft chuckles at that, all of them trying
not to feel sick to the stomach about the reasons for the rapid
growth. It was peace but now they had to deal with the horror of all
that had happened, both to themselves and to the rest of the galaxy…

It wasn’t easy.

It wasn’t easy.

It’s been a while, but I’m wondering about andthentherewerenone. Do any of the clones get more… directly possessive? Like deciding to manhandle their generals and commanders a little more, both to get them out of danger and just intimate casualness? I mean, the Jedi know what’s going on, the clones know that the Jedi know, so obviously their Jedi are fine with their possessive love… (can go romantic or not) Thanks for all the great writing!

Blinking a bit in shock, Obi-Wan stared
at the equally surprised faces of the senators he had been talking
with moments before he was interrupted as he was being carried away
over Cody’s shoulder, the clone commander’s gait steady and his
arm tight around Obi-Wan’s waist as he walked.

He couldn’t help but reluctantly feel
impressed despite also being embarrassed by the commander carrying
him around like some kind of rescued noble.

Considering all that had been going on
lately, Obi-Wan didn’t follow his first instinct which was to
demand loudly what in all Force Cody was doing and instead took a
deep breath so he wouldn’t shout. “…Cody, what are you doing?”
He asked in a calm tone.

“They were flirting with you.” Cody
said shortly. “They were warned not to. You’re not some kind of
floozy the Order pimps out to them to get them to agree and if they
want to speak with you, they are to treat you with the respect you
rightfully deserve and that includes talking to you like a
representative of the Republic that you are there to help them
negotiate.” He shifted Obi-Wan a bit on his shoulder to a more
comfortable position that didn’t have the armor digging into
Obi-Wan’s stomach.

The Jedi master had no idea what to
respond to that and had a moment of wonder just where all propriety
had gone since the end of the war before he just surrendered to the
troopers particular brand of care and possessive protectiveness.

‘At least I have a valid reason to
give the rest of the council.’ He mused to himself as Cody moved up
the ramp of Goldracer, the cruiser they had taken out instead of the
Negotiator as Obi-Wan had not needed the entire star destroyer.

A few of the troopers greeted them on
the way, none of them even hinting that what Cody was doing was
unusual behavior despite the fact that this was the first time the
clone commander had outright manhandled Obi-Wan.

Cody didn’t stop until he reached the
captains quarters which had been delegated to Obi-Wan and only there
did he carefully put Obi-Wan down, hands lingering ever so slightly
before he straightened and reached up to pull his helmet off, giving
the Jedi a long stare. “…You don’t have to put up with it
anymore General.” Cody murmured quietly.

“Cody, I’m a negotiator, its my
duty t-”

The commander cut in smoothly in a tone
he had clearly learned from the Jedi himself. “You taught us that
as human beings we are worthy of respect, including the respect not
to be oogled like a form for meat. You taught us that. And you are
just as human as we are.” He stressed.

Obi-Wan wasn’t sure how to respond to
that. On one level he understood where Cody was coming from but that
had been in the face of Cody and the troopers autonomy, their right
to life and Jedi were used to being leered at or even have their
rears pinched when trying to deal with leaders of planets having
outright tantrums practically.

Yet at the same time he couldn’t deny
Cody because he knew that if he did, he’d turn the situation on
Obi-Wan in some manner with the clones rights as humans.

Wearily he ran a hand over his hair.

And almost jumped out of his skin when
a gentle gloved hand touched his cheek, cupping it.

Cody’s hand as he smiled gently at
him. “You’re worthy of respect sir, if you won’t look after it
yourself… than we will.” He murmured quietly before stepping back
and pulling his helmet on, giving a salute to the stunned Jedi and
then disappearing out the door.

Hand coming up to his cheek, Obi-Wan
blinked slightly. ‘…What was that?’ He wondered.

In #andthentherewasnone you talk about the reactions of the politicians but I was wondering how the bounty hunters and pirates that had tangled with them on a regular basis (like bane or hondo) reacted to the «clone’s kill to protect our jedi» mentality

Now, Cad Bane was
not stupid.

He knew the clones
were physically identical to Jango Fett in terms of their bodies
being equipped to be warriors and fighters. And he knew they received
training, especially the early batches were well trained even if they
could be tricked and fought.

But this was
different.

Now things were
different and Bane was not going to be caught out.

So when the bounty
on Jedi started to travel the bounty hunters grapevine on the low
down…

Cad got the hell
out of dodge and warned anyone he considered worth it not to take the
missions either or bounties either.

He warned Boba too
and Aurra Sing because Cad had known Jango and he could recognize the
look in anyone with Jango’s eyes when face to face with them.

The clones would
never allow anyone to touch their Jedi again, the clones were cleaning
house and Cad knew it and there would be no mercy from then even for
someone wearing Jango Fett’s face.

So he wasn’t
surprised when bounty hunters involved in Jedi capture started
turning out dead, most in gruesome fashions. He wasn’t surprised
when people involved in anti-Jedi outcries started to silence and he
sure as hell wasn’t surprised when Tarkin himself was sniped on
Coruscant with no one able to tell who had done it.

Clones knew how not
to leave evidence and they were more then willing to kill for their
Jedi as the Order themselves slowly withdrew into their temple with
the quiet public news that they were trying to shore up all that had
been brought into damage or question by the war they had agreed to
fight.

No one else had
seemed to realize it though, at least not in the beginning because
the clones were crafty and covered their tracks.

No one except Hondo
Ohnaka of all people.

Which explained why
Cad was sharing a drink with the eccentric pirate of all people as
the two quietly watched another report of yet another slaver turning
up dead on Coruscant.

“Hmm, seems like
they found the one responsible for Skywalker’s injuries.” Hondo
noted almost lightly, a grin on his face.

Cad grunted in
return, nodding in agreement. He’d trust Hondo on who had managed
to nab which Jedi during the slavery escapade a few months back. The
duro already knew that the one who had grabbed Kenobi had died that
day because the 212th had not allowed her to get far at
all, a relentless team of kriffing scary hunters if he could say so.

“How long until
others start realizing it you think?” Hondo sipped his drink.

“Not long. Might
not realize who at first but they’ll figure out not to touch Jedi
at least.” Cad grunted out as he sat back in his chair and lifted
his boots onto the table. “Or else.” He shrugged.

Hondo hummed,
rubbing his chin. “Think the clones will take past grievances as
insult too? I have had my dealings with both Kenobi and Skywalker and
a few Jedi…” He seemed a bit worried.

Sipping slowly, Cad
allowed the alcohol to burn his taste buds a bit and down his
stomach. “No. That was war, they won’t think too much of that but
now… now its personal. They made it all personal and if I were you,
I’d be very nice to Jedi in the future. No selling them out.” He
grunted finally.

As the pirate
mourned loss of revenue and amusement, Cad meanwhile wondered if it
would be worth it to sell himself out to the vode, be on their good
side and inform them should any plots against Jedi reach his ears.

Rubbing his chin
slowly, the duro narrowed his eyes.

Maybe.
