Oh! More of #Crimsonpunch please! Does Obi-Wan struggle with the war too? He must be tired and disillusioned on some days. Before, he might not have wanted Anakin to know, wanting to spare him the burden of worrying, but now, he’s maybe not so careful about hiding everything.

Snapping his eyes
open without moving, Anakin clenched his hand around the wrench under
his pillow before abruptly releasing it as he recognized the person
sitting at his bedside.

Letting out a deep
breath while forcing himself awake, Anakin sighed deeply. “I almost
bashed your head in with a wrench Obi-Wan.” He mumbled out tiredly
before tilting his head to look towards his old master.

And abruptly
freezing at the sight of glistening moisture caught in the darkness
on the little track of skin between eyes and beard. A ragged little
breath escaped Obi-Wan, adding to Anakin’s suspicion of tears.

“…Obi-Wan?”
He whispered more cautiously before shifting his hand out from under
the pillow and lifting his blanket slowly.

There was a shift
and then Obi-Wan ducked under the others arm and curled up to
Anakin’s chest and under his chin while wrapping his arms around
the knight’s waist in a tight move.

Stroking Obi-Wan
hair slowly with flesh fingers, Anakin settled his mech arm around
the others waist to use his fingertips to gently rub at the small of
the others back, either saying a thing.

‘This used to be
my position,’ Suddenly occurred to Anakin, arm wrapped tightly
around Obi-Wan’s waist as he pulled the other more tightly into his
body. ‘When the cold or nightmares sent me running from my own bed
to Obi-Wan’s in the temple. Obi-Wan would blink at me in the light
from the open bedroom door and then lift his blankets, let me crawl
in without a word and hold me tight until I grew big enough to handle
it on my own.’

It was a startling
realization even as it clued him in on what might be going on because
it wasn’t like Obi-Wan to just silently show up this way in
Anakin’s tent.

But maybe…

“I’m so tired.”
Came the muffled rasp down at his chest and Anakin’s heart squeezed
painfully as all he could do was hold the other.

“Its been a long
war.” He ended up whispering instead, feeling the weight on it all
too keenly in that moment but opting not to say anything.

“I just want to
sleep undisturbed for one night. Just one night without getting
interrupted by an attack, nightmares or council meeting.” Obi-Wan
trembled a bit and pressed closer to Anakin somehow, suiting a leg
between the others with his nails digging somewhat into Anakin’s
sides.

Letting out a heavy
breath, Anakin pressed his lips to the other forehead, searching for
something to reassure the other with and coming up astoundingly
blank.

Because any moment
could be their last and any moment could bring pain and more misery
and there were so many people out there counting on them and the
troopers were being abused to the very last inch of their sentient,
the rights they should have being denied because the Jedi had so
little to actually fight the Senate with.

At least as long as
they were beholden to the Senate.

Finally he spoke
up. “There are a lot of things happening. Many who depend on us.
Depend on the troopers. But we’re only two players in a grand
scheme Obi-Wan,” He whispered, feeling Obi-Wan tilt his head to
listen. “And in the end… we are luminous beings, not this crude
matter. In the end… if you loose me, if I loose you… we’ll find
each other again in the Force. Of that I’m sure because where
Skywalker is-”

Obi-Wan cut in, a
soft whisper. “Kenobi is sure to follow. Never one without the
other,” He laughed wetly. “That shouldn’t be as assuring as it
is.”

Grinning a bit,
Anakin only nuzzled the skin of Obi-Wan’s temple gently and settled
in, feeling Obi-Wan start to drowse in the following quiet.

‘Even the
strongest stones eventually crumbles for the wave of water.’ Anakin
nosed lightly at the other and wondered if he could convince Obi-Wan
to go to the mindhealers too.

He needed it.
