Obi-Wan shifted and
then settled, settling the book in his lap and marveling at the
sensation of a actual book of paper and leather, wondering how the
Kamino’s got their hands on it. His shift made the arms around his
waist tighten and Rex lifted his forehead from Obi-Wan’s shoulder,
looking sleepy but content with a leg on each side of the Jedi’s.
“Huh?”
“Was just getting
comfortable Rex. A shift of position, that’s all.” The Jedi
assured, smiling when Tup came over with a pot of tea and settling
down beside them while peeking at the book. “And thank you Tup,
that looks very nice.” He offered gratefully, keeping a finger on
the page while pouring himself a fresh cup.
“Cody said you
preferred red tea, but the Kamino’s haven’t shipped any in so there’s
only green.” Tup leaned against the redhead.
“Tea is good
regardless.” Obi-Wan assured. “Where is Cody?”
“Running training
drills with the younger ones.”
Obi-Wan hummed as
slowly more and more clones filed in, some settling to chores, duties
and work and others settling just to sit pressed against Obi-Wan’s
side or legs. “At this rate, I’m not going to need my robe if
you’re all going to keep me warm.” The Jedi chuckled quietly as a
younger clone crawled into his lap, roughly around Boba’s age.
“You’re already
walking around without boots most of the time now. So why not.” Rex
yawned against his shoulder.
“Propriety Rex,
I’m a Jedi master. I’m suppose to be at least a tiny bit
respectable.”
“You are
respectable. Just because you’re comfortable around us doesn’t mean
you aren’t.” Tup shrugged and the young one on his lap beamed at
him. “And you look happier without them on!” He chirped.
Obi-Wan sighed and
shook his head.
However…he was
smiling too, a slightly embarrassed, but pleased smile.
