Knowing there’s a lot of gamers among my followers, please be aware; PS3, PS Vita and PSN online stores are closing. If you have digitally owned games on those you can still download them, but there’s no word whether you can download patches or updates to them, and you probably can’t buy dlc to those consoles eventually.

So you know, if you have games on those consoles you haven’t started up in a few years, maybe run them through for patches and check if you want to get any dlc for them before you flat out lose the ability.

It gets worse:

You should look over the thread from the source, but the tldr is that when the CMOS battery dies or gets replaced, it needs to connect to PSN servers to sync the clock. This makes your digital games and dlc unplayable.

Also affected on PS4 side, the CMOS battery death kills disc playback.
